I booked here for one night as was on site 20 mins down the road. I found the room to be basic, but everything I needed. I booked the En Suite Double Room as I didn't want to share a bathroom and didn't want to sleep on a single bed. It came with a little flat screen tv, a desk, a bed and 2 side drawers along with a little storage to hang up clothes and put the suitcase. The tap was missing the top cover for the cold tap, but it worked fine as did the hot water. I also found the room to be clean and the staff to be friendly. I paid extra to have the breakfast which came as 5 different options (I had the poached egg, sausage, bacon and mushrooms and 2 slices of toast) which was fine and couldn't complain. I feel like people are expecting the ritz accomodation for a low price? I knew what I was booking when I booked at £70, it did it's job and had no issues

Comfortable bed.  The room had a desk, TV and tea / coffee.

The rate also included a cooked breakfast.  It is within 3 minutes walk of a co-op and pub.   

Loads of off road parking - large parking area out the back.

This Hotel is the worst Hotel I have ever stayed at, I  prebooked and paid for 2 nights ,but only stayed 1 night because the Hotel is filthy the room I stayed in the sink was hanging off wal there shower was unusable and  i had to prop a chair against the door as there were people banging on door during night I felt very unsafe and left the next morning after approximately  1 hours rest, A terrible place ,I have stayed all over the world and this Hotel to me is the worst of all, Felt unsafe and wore a mask in room because of smell of damp and dirt,  everywhere was shabby and dirty.

DONT STAY HEAR

All the other reviews are true. This is cheap and nasty hotel. You get what you pay for provided you are paying about £30 a night. It is not worth much more. Lots of things broken, holes in the wall and mold in the bathroom. It was OK for a bed to crash in for the night but would not want to stay longer. If you are squeamish about dirty run down hotels then don't book here. On the plus side the shower was hot and powerful !

dirty and broken down but I survivied

awful awful awful. please avoid this place like the plague. as soon as i walked in i felt uneasy, an extremely unwelcoming atmosphere. it’s a dimly lit, unpleasant and dirty place. me and my partner went into our room, was in there at most 10 minutes, then our door was banged on and attempted to be opened. we immediately left. i was left feeling really shaken up and quite scared to be honest. it felt like something out of a horror movie, and after leaving and discovering other things that have happened here, i’m surprised it’s not shut down!!!!

Staff seemed friendly but I left my fitbit there by accident. I sent a self addressed envelope with a letter asking for proof of posting so that I knew the fitbit had been posted back as promised. A month later, the fitbit hasn't arrived. They have told me to be patient as there are postal strikes but I don't think parcels are taking a month to arrive. They didn't get proof of posting, as requested, so they're unable to prove that they posted it. It also means that the post office won't compensate me. As far as I am aware, they are now liable for the cost of the fitbit because, if they did post it, the poster remains responsible for the item until the package is delivered. They have not offered me any compensation! For a cheap hotel, with a lumpy bed, it ended up costing me a lot of money.

I am not in a position to know if they ever posted it or not.  What do you think?

Missing fitbit, lumpy bed.

I arrived at this hotel and went to reception. To say it was like on these films where you go to that sort of hotel where the receptionist is a guy in a string vest with a fag in his mouth would not be an exaggeration. I was given the key and went to the room. The smell was the first thing that gets you. When I went in the room it was like walking back to the 60s. Furniture looking like it came from the cheap sofa shop. Decor was old and in need of gutting and starting again. The shower was looking like you would come out dirtier than you went in. And to find black mould on the windows shows what a health hazard this so called 3 star hotel is. I will be reporting this place to the HSE and also to the local council. I took photos etc and left. When I told the guy at reception I was checking out, he asked why? To which I replied, I can't stay here its not safe. He looked astounded. I booked into the Penta Hotel in Reading. A proper hotel that looks after its customers.

Should be condemned

Absolutely horrific stay here. Stayed here for reading festival and the room was disgusting, what looked like pubes all over the toilet and sink. Room looked like it hadn’t had a hoover in about 20 odd years with very basic and old furniture. Mattress looked older than me with stains. Cleaning man constantly unlocking my door and coming into my room without any permission. Felt very unsafe here. Would not recommend this stay at all.

Worst hotel ever

Checked in on Wednesday 29th June. My room tv did not work. I went down to reception to ask the guy what could be done. He turned to me and said I can’t do anything if you don’t like it check out! I’m on my own!!! I was go smacked by the terrible attitude of the guy working that night he clearly is in the wrong job. I then said if you won’t do anything I will have a partial refund. He turned to me and said again if you don’t like it check out.

The stay with my partner and myself was the worst hotel experience I have ever had! From the miserable old goat of a manager that treated us like dirt, to the filthy bedroom and bathroom that had a filthy sink, a toilet that was covered in god knows what - a toilet handle that broke at one point, a shower that was for the majority of the stay running lukewarm water, and it wasn't a power shower. Towels that smelt of damp (the room where they are stored is full of damp) and cigarette smoke. Housekeeping (or whoever) banging doors very loudly. The WIFI disconnected and the staff didn't give a toss about getting it back for their guests! Definitely not worth the price. Avoid at all costs!
