Unbelievably we got “recommended” this guest house. Looked nothing special from the outside, we entered and were greeted by the owner who gave us the usual spiel in a slightly depressed fashion. We got our bags from the car then pottered up the stairs to our room...I wish we hadn’t!😱🙈 Upon opening the door we were met with a god-awful stench, a cross between smoke and musk! The room was soiled almost everywhere! The walls were filthy, bed sheets covered in mould, skirting boards and carpets riddled with dirt and cobwebs...and the milk provided for the supplied kettle was only 3 months out of date! We thought that was bad...then we tried the “communal” bathroom...Jesus! Mould, excrement, dirt, cobwebs...I could go on...needless to say, neither of us dared sample the shower for fear of disease! We were completely blown away, how can such a place be even open? Are the hotel/health inspectors aware of this guest house? I can’t comment on the breakfast as we decided not to eat there, if the rest of the establishment was anything to go by, god knows what the kitchen was like! It’s a one of those, “we’ll put that down to experience” jobs, no way on this Earth would I stay there again and I’d highly recommend you don’t either...unless you want to contract some sort of potential illness! I’m off for a shower now...

Take my advice and always read the reviews because we stayed at thus place for only one hour after checking in!

We were greeted by a really nice lady who owned the place. While we were checking in, there was a loud group of girls who were already drunk pulling people in to get ready in their room for their night out, which wasn’t a problem at the time, but they decided to have a karaoke party at 11pm!! 

When we entered our room...the musty smell hit us!! The room was dated which was fine until we took a closer look. The walls looked infected and the beds were broken as we found out by moving one!! We found clothes tags, a pen knife and toe nails and dust to prove it hadn’t been moved for a while or hoovered under!! 

We had a look in the bathroom...and the shower was the mouldiest we had ever seen around the shower tray with a mouldy shower curtain to go with it. 

That wasn’t the worst part... there was a toilet brush with toilet paper and poo attached to it!! That was it we handed the keys in and told the owner we couldn’t stay here any longer and wanted a refund. She refunded the whole lot except one night and was offended when we said about her cleanliness of the place. When we mentioned the toilet brush she replied “ it was fit for its purpose”

We found another hotel a bit further down the road that was suitable.

Awful place to stay avoid at all costs

Family room was dated, stained, dirty. Rotting food in the corner of the room (pictured). Beds were uncomfortable, bathroom as dirty and shower not clean at all. 

In the morning we had a medical emergency meaning that we missed breakfast by 15 minutes. After talking with management there was no sign of a cooked breakfast as we were “too” late. We were offered cereal and toast, even though when my little boy wondered in to the food prep area I could see the owners chowing down on sausages and bacon! 

Even after complaining nothing was done. My brother in law payed for the room and I feel like what ever he payed it probably wasn’t even worth a quarter of the price. 

STAY CLEAR OF THIS DUMP.

Discusting room and terrible service

Was very happy with the property after booking in the same day as arrival. The room was very comfy, I enjoyed the bed and the space of the room. Both staff members were very pleasant to talk to. Also, was especially happy with the breakfast - I was met as soon as I came in to the breakfast room, and then everything was served up in less than five minutes! Absolutely fantastic.

I had some difficulty getting in to the property, as the outside door was closed + locked, and there was no bell. Eventually after banging on the door a bit I was let in after a few minutes. I couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work while in the room - I couldn't find the network name listed to connect to (however, it was late at night so didn't think it enough of a problem to ask anyone).

Very good value for money & great breakfast

Me and friends come to stay for one night, when we arrived the room smelt very musty and like a wet dog, the furniture looked very old something from the 1800s, the beds weren’t clean or comfy think the floor would of been better to sleep on, neither where the walls the way paper was outdated and not clean the tele wouldn’t even work properly the light in our room even blew and there was little bugs flying around even got bitten threw the night and was scratching also! The room was freezing and there wasn’t even any soap in the bathroom to wash our hands with and there was cob webs in the lamp shade 

Would not recommend anyone to stay here am never coming back here again never known a hotel to be like this think rhe owdners needs to get their act together and give it a revamp! Wish I would of taken pictures
