Number 8 Guest House

The Number 8 Guesthouse was our first B&B experience on our 4 week holiday in Ireland and Karen and Bob didn’t disappoint. They went above and beyond, Bob had fantastic travel tips to make good use of our time. The location was perfect, short stroll over the Peace Bridge into the city centre. Thank you Karen and Bob, your hospitality will be remembered forever, we hope you enjoyed the Australian Shiraz.

What a wonderful stay in a fantastic and beautiful home. Karen & Bob we’re so friendly and kind. I had a great nights sleep with the electric blanket! The breakfast was delicious and Karen helped to accommodate my special diet. As I was travelling on my own I really appreciated the private parking and felt very safe. Looking forward to staying again soon with friends. Thank you. 

We really enjoyed our stay at ‘Number 8 Guesthouse’!
Location is perfect : walking distance from the city centre and in a quiet area.
The hosts are very nice, helpful and gave us a warm welcome.
The room and the bathroom are very clean, bright and comfortable.
And the breakfast... Probably the best we had during our stay in Ireland : delicious, with fresh products.
We often find good places to stay but rarely as great as ‘Number 8 Guesthouse’!
We definitely recommend it!

We spent two nights here as part of our tour of Northern Ireland and were very pleased we booked this B&b. Bob greeted us and took our heavy cases up to our room which was extremely clean and very comfortable. I really appreciated the pot of tea Bob made us on arrival and the mini sponge cakes were very tasty. Karen’s breakfasts were delicious, in particular the fruit salad which was a nice treat. Highly recommend this B&b for any visit to the city. 

I visited Derry to do a course last weekend and stayed at Number 8 Guesthouse. I was only looking for somewhere to get my head down for the night but was in for an amazing surprise. From my arrival I was made most welcome. Having just driven for over six hours Bob sat me down and brought a welcome pot of tea and a slice of lemon drizzle cake. When Karen arrived shortly afterwards she made me equally welcome. I was asked what I wanted for breakfast (full English or Irish depending on whether you say Londonderry or Derry!) and what time I wanted it. I was not disappointed; the breakfast was fit for a king!

Bob even offered to drop me off at my course venue. One can't BS this sort of welcome; this was above and beyond what you'd expect from a guesthouse. The room was wonderful; none of the clinical hotel style but perfectly appointed. 4 star luxury at a reasonable price. Advice and a city map were given on what to see if time was available; I, unfortunately, only got to see the Peace Bridge. I'd love to return to see more of the city of Derry and I know exactly where I want to stay: Number 8 Guesthouse. Thank you Karen and Bob for being such excellent and friendly hosts. I'll be back.
