We booked this house on VBRO for a family visit to Derry in the run up to Christmas. It’s an old Victorian House with all the original features you expect to find. The owner told us of the house history which was built in 1861 with 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (one en-suite). The main living rooms had an open fires and a log burner which came in handy with the winter weather (-4 and some snow). It has a great kitchen well equipped with Range-master cooker which came in hand for feeding our group of 11. We had a great family dinner on the first night and on the second night we dined at the Sooty Olive which was also excellent and only 5 minutes walk. Walking distance to town over the peace bridge is about 1/2 mile from the house and an easy 15-20 minute walk. Recommend getting a taxi back as it’s uphill the last 1/4 mile. All in all it was a great stay. Thank you for hosting our family break.
