We are returning visitors to Riverwood, although had a longer wait this time due to COVID restrictions. 
Wanted to pop a wee review on as we stayed in a new room for us the Dunnachoille suite. The room was so spacious and beautifully presented, we loved the doors out to the garden with view of the river, and were lucky the sun was shining all weekend. Breakfast as always was first class, as was the evening meal on the Saturday evening. I must mention the stringent procedures in place for COVID, we felt 100% safe during our whole stay. Alf & Ann are fantastic hosts and so welcoming. Trying to lab my next visit already!

We've lost count of the number of times we've returned here as we aim to have at least one trip here each year and it never fails to allow life to slow down in perfect comfort with gorgeous accomodation, surroundings and ideal hosts. Even although there had to be COVID restrictions this year Ann and Alf had applied their usual attention to detail and had thought through a way of keeping everyone safe in as unobtrusive a way as possible and it did not affect our enjoyment of our break in any way. Five stars is never enough!!!

What a special place, very unique with attention to detail in each suite and throughout the whole house and grounds .   Alf and Ann are the perfect hosts and very proud of their gorgeous home.   The suites are all main door with views over immaculately kept gardens and spotless clean throughout    The suite we stayed in had everything you could possibly ask for, separate lounge, huge bedroom with sofa and tv, very large comfortable bed, large immaculate shower room with underfloor heating and very tasteful decorated.    Breakfast was delicious complements to Ann and Alf who made our stay very special and followed strict guidelines which was very comforting.

We have just had the most relaxing 3 night stay at Riverwood in Strathtay. Ann and Alf are the perfect hosts. They have worked exceptionally hard and have ensured that all the regulations are in place. They have  maintained their calm, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Outstanding / Perfect.

Another amazing stay at Riverwood for our wedding anniversary. Alf and Ann are the perfect hosts who tick every possible box and more. The room we stayed in is the Auchanross which is the large ground floor suite with a separate entrance, sitting room, dining room and bathroom. Riverwoid is impeccably maintained to the highest standards and is tastefully decorated and equipped throughout. The meal we were served up by Ann on Saturday evening was top class and would have graced any great restaurant. Thankyou Alf and Ann for another lovely stay 😎

Just returned from our 4th visit to Riverwood in Strathtay and it’s tricky not to replicate what’s been said in a lot of the other 5 star reviews. 
It’s a stunning house in a fantastic rural setting on the banks of the Tay. 
We’ve stayed in three different guest rooms on our four stays and all have been stylishly appointed, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. 
The proprietors, Ann and Alf, are wonderful, accommodating and very friendly hosts. Nothing’s too much bother and the calm, peaceful ambience they’ve created at Riverwood is perfect for getting away from it all. 
Ann’s cooking (breakfasts and also Saturday night dinner if you choose it) is outstanding and has been a real highlight of our stays. 
There’s something really good for the soul in sitting eating a beautiful breakfast whilst looking out over the lawn and the river, watching red squirrels and a variety of birds going about their day. 
It’s difficult to fault Riverwood and visit number five is now firmly on the cards.

We have not long come back from spending a few day's at Riverwood a lovely B&B, what a little gem. This has been our second visit this year and plan to visit again next year. We had a most relaxing stay, weather was good and the Autumn colours were fantastic, well worth a visit and Ann and Alf are great host's.

Riverwood is fabulous what a find. The dunnachoille suite is huge beautifully furnished and so warm. It has a great view if the river Tay which runs at the foot of the garden.it has a small patio  leading from patio doors. The breakfast is beautifully cooked by Ann. Alf is a great host and very friendly and nothing too much bother for him. Will definitely return. One of the best bed and breakfast we have visited. Thank you so much Ann and Alf for making our stay so enjoyable.

Spent a delightful two nights in the Tulliepowrie Junior Suite.  Spacious, ellegant decoration, with all amenities.  Private entrance and just a hop skip and a jump from the main house where the best breakfast ever is served by Alf after being prepared by Ann, both of whom are delightful hosts.

Relaxation is in abundance at the Riverwood, from its quiet setting, nestled in the leafy village of Strathtay, with gardens running down to the edge of the River Tay.  It is ideally located for both Pitlochry and Aberfeldy plus further afield should you wish to explore the surrounding countryside.  

Should you not be lucky enough to experience the Saturday dinner prepared by Ann, for those looking for a nice welcoming bar/restaurant, cannot fault the Inn on the Tay, located 5 mins walk away across the river.  

For those a bit more athletic, then the scenic public footpath from Strathtay up over the gentle hill into Pitlochry is a lovely way to spend a couple of hours, before a short taxi ride back.

The Riverwood should be more than 5 stars and do not believe that you will find a nicer, cleaner, sumptious, friendly and comfy B&B in Scotland.

I have no idea why this is a 4 Star -- it IS 5 Star for sure! We stayed 4 nights in the Auchanross Suite where we slept like logs in the very comfortable bed, large bathrm with a separate shower, dressing room, and relaxed in the lounge room. Wow, 4 room suite! Ann and Alf were welcoming, friendly hosts. If you are there on a Saturday night, you should reserve the 3 course dinner cooked by Ann, delicious and better than the other local restaurants we ate in.  Ann outdid herself with breakfast, see my photo of the fabulous tower of deliciousness - what a presentation.  Fresh fruit and croissants followed by a hot dish of your choice. Upon return to the Pitlochry area, I would not consider staying anywhere else. Thank you Ann & Alf for a wonderful stay.

This is my husband and I second visit to Riverwood. If we visit this area I wouldn’t go anywhere else. On arrival Ann brought us fresh baked scones with jam and clotted cream, delicious. The room is spotless and beautifully decorated. Breakfast served by Alf is excellent, you watch the red squirrels running about while eating from the lovely big windows in the dining room. Alf is a friendly host. The garden is the most beautiful place to sit and relax and listen to the river flowing by. 2 nice restaurants/bars within 5 minutes walk.
