The New Inn

We were staying down the road and called in. Good food at reasonable prices and chips to die for. Only regret is we only managed to get there for 2 nights. Can't wait to try the steak and ale stew and chips. Staff friendly and helpful especially as we had a 4 year old with us. Would recommend it anytime.

Our first visit and very impressed. Room was a little dated, after all, it is an old pub, but spotlessly clean and comfortable. The fan provided was useful in the hot weather. The real strongpoint of this pub is the quality of food at very reasonable prices. It's also popular with locals, always a good sign. Service was also excellent, despite the fact it was often busy. Would highly recommend.

Amazing food. Staff very friendly and helpful. Sat in court yard very peaceful and relaxing. Will definitely be visiting again.
Has car park. Dogs welcome. Barman went into cellar to check they had my drink request YES a bottle left . 
Service was above and beyond.

Fantastic pub, accommodation, food and service! Booked for my Dad as we were staying in a campsite nearby. His room was very generous, both breakfasts and dinners freshly home cooked and the service received from Susan, Andy and the team was superb. Thank you. We will be back!

Lovely coaching Inn with very friendly and helpful staff very warm and clean room, this is not a travel lodge but a very friendly quaint and lovely place with excellent food and service had dinner there every night lovely home made stew,would highly recommend thanks Susan & Andy.

A great pub superb staff food and atmosphere we’ve not eaten here for some 2 years due to covid used to eat every few weeks whilst visiting the car auction however returned and still the same charming establishment Sue and staff are wonderful you must try the rhubarb crumble

Great food, lovely staff, highly recommended. You would be advised to book a table as it gets busy. We had Belly pork, fish platter and calamari starter from the specials board. Beer and cider were good.

Couldn’t fault my stay.  Very comfortable and cosy bedroom. Everything I needed. Excellent food especially the breakfast.  Friendly staff and service with a smile.  Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it.  Great value for money.

Perfect end to our walk. It was snowing but we were so comfy and warm from the fire. Portions are a decent size and the food was delicious. Wish I could have fit a pudding in as well. Service was perfect.

We camped at Thornton le dale, and was,nt expecting it to be such a vibrant little village  , and then we discovered the New Inn, cask beers, I,ve had before but some how never as good, the staff are very nice and the pub is a jewell in the crown if Thornton.

Stayed three nights as a sort of surprise from my wife so I could visit Bangers and Cash, which is literally opposite the car park. This is a typical old English
Pub with lots of interesting features, other reviews from earlier management 
should be treated as such and not applied to the current staff who are friendly and obliging, the managers had a good sense of humour and were very chatty. The room was clean and the breakfasts were ample and tasty and we ate in the restaurant each evening we were there, and were not disappointed, we don't have any dietary issues, except that my wifes prefers goats milk, which we informed them of prior to arrival and they provided without any problem,
the landlord even made a special trip to the shops to get honey for my wifes breakfast.
We travel extensively in the UK and Europe and will definitely return  to this 
very pretty pub

Excellent stay

Smiling faces and friendly staff certainly told us a story.  We were immediately made welcome even though we made it known our stay was solely for a snack. 
Our order was taken by a young lady whose appearance and manner was absolutely superb. 
We waited for a very short time for our snacks to arrive. They both matched in equal terms the way we had been received in such a superb way. 
Overall our stay at The New Inn was more than positive and  something to remember

My husband and I saw Thornton Le Dale on Tv while watching Bangers and Cash, the area looked so pretty.
We researched the area on line, and really liked the look of the New Inn, booking was easy and on arrival was delighted at the setting of the New Inn.
Staff were really pleasant on arrival, the room was delightful full of character which didn't disappoint, very clean with everything we could need.
They had reserved us a table for that evening in the restaurant, so no need to look for somewhere to eat, food was delicious, really pleasant atmosphere with good choice of menu and drinks.
We would go again tomorrow if we could'

Respite from the norm

Amazing food

Excellent pub grub and drinks. Lovely round table for 6 by the window. Fish and chips were freshly cooked and very tasty. Steaks were well cooked and tasty too. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive. Would definitely revisit if in the area again.
