The New Inn

Delicious home cooked food and warm, friendly service. The Yorkshire pudding wraps were so tasty with proper gravy. We asked if they had some curry sauce, which was not on the menu - no problem at all, the chef made some especially and it was sublime. Thank you so much we can’t wait for our next visit.

Had a wonderful stay at a wonderful pub. Location is perfect and character of the pub is amazing. Lovely locally brewed beer and great food. Bad timing on our part that the brewery was closed so couldn't do the tour but gives u great excuse to go back.

Had a gorgeous Boxing Day lunch with my family. Cosy pub with homely food - they served huge portions of pie with a mountain of fresh vegetables.  They serve great ales and have lovely friendly staff. The scenery is beautiful - what more could you want? Highly recommend

Lovely old pub with log burner in bar, friendly staff and locals, made very welcome.  Stayed three nights in the four poster room, situated outside of main building but ideal for our two small dogs. Home cooked meals, very good and generous, good range of ales, most from adjoining brewery.Located in the countryside, highly recommended.

Nice country pub, great service. Lovely room with bath and shower. Great meals, both evening and breakfast.

This was a one night stop over and it is a typical village old pub with no frills and basic accommodation. That takes nothing from the fact that it offers good value, together with a wide selection of tasty pub grub in a convivial environment and a well stocked bar with its own real ale, worthy of a visit in its own right.

Great home cooked Yorkshire food.

We had a very nice stay here as we stopped over for one night while in the area. While there are a couple of things that could be improved upon (like the reception you get when you check in here which was not welcoming really at all!), it was overall a very good experience. The staff in the morning were nice, the food was decent, the atmosphere buzzing and the room we had was clean, cozy and offered everything you needed. A successful visit.

It was a great experience for my wife and I to sleep  over a pub. The staff were extremely friendly. We met some wonderful people from Wells and we had a really good beer and cider. They even made us a platter of cheese and crackers.The parking was very good, access to the pub was a little difficult due to the many staircases one had to use to get to our room. It was especially difficult getting large suitcases up, but that is natural when there are no elevators. if It was warm and cozy, the bathrooms were clean and upgraded, and the breakfast was absolutely smashing. The pub sits in a beautiful area of England and you look out onto MeadowsThe pub sits in a beautiful area of England and you look out onto Meadows.

We have just returned from having a 1 night break in Pickering and stayed at this little gem of a B&B.We were on the top floor which was fine and the room was clean and comfortable.Staff were extremely welcoming and the service was faultless.We ordered our evening meal in the bar area and it was reasonably priced and good quality, however chips could have been more cooked.We had a hearty breakfast and there was a good choice to be had.We would definitely recommend this friendly little B&B set in the perfect location for exploring surrounding areas and will definitely be revisiting.

Great little b&b

I had room 10 it was like a little cottage with its own central heating controls. The bed and bedding were lovely and comfortable. Hot water was plentiful. I had the steak and ale pie for tea with included parsnip sudes, chips and broccoli it was delicious. The range of made on site real ales was impressive. Breakfast was well presented, the full english came with locally sourced sausages. I left feeling very full.

Lovely Inn hospitality in beautiful countryside.

Called in today for a last minute bite to eat and a pint. We were met with such a warm welcome and more than happy to let us bring to dog in as well. We had some beautiful beer that they brew on site and it was cracking. I did try a few different ones 😉. We had a bar meal and it was a feast to behold. Great quality and more than enough to fill me up considering it was only lunch. My wife had the Yorkshire pudding and pork wrap which was tremendous and so heart warming. Just like granny would have done. What more can you ask for. Then to top it all the bill was more than acceptable and certainly not a shock to the wallet. Wish we had discovered it a few days earlier. Well done all.

Off the cuff visit and we’ll worth it

A lovley little hotel, fab food and lovely welcoming staff. We stayed in the family room (4) it has a modern bathroom and a good sized bedroom (we didnt use the pull out bed, i expect it would be very cramped with that in use). The hotel is very old so we didnt expect it to be perfect but there is quite alot of black mould in the room, its in the corners, around the windows and on the celing, as an asthmatic this did worry me so i probably wont return due to that. I couldnt fault anything else though, the restaurant on the evening served delicious food, the breakfast was excellent and the staff were super friendly. The beds were comfortable, the rest of the room was clean, and the location was lovely.

The people that worked at New Inn were amazing.
The Inn itself is really tired, could do with updating or a refurbishment.
The food was really good, the bed was comfy and linen was very clean.
Such ashame you cannot walk to another pub or restaurant from the New Inn as it would be a good dig friendly base.
