Lovely one night break. Room was very comfortable, very clean with a giant and comfortable bed. Fantastic breakfast included. We all ate in the restaurant which was really good food at a very good price. Very highly recommended.

Clean, great value and good food.

Lovely little place. Room nice size, clean and comfortable. Food in restaurant excellent. 5 minute walk to show ground which is reason we booked.Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed in Stables Cottage with my children, this place is absolutely fantastic! It's beautifully done out, super clean and the breakfasts at the Willow restaurant are delicious and traditional. Nothing is too much trouble for Margaret the lovely owner and Pateley Bridge is a fantastic base for seeing the Yorkshire Dales. 

Couldn't fault it!

10 out of 10 from us.  We used The Willows as an overnight stop whilst completing the 6 Dales Trail and it was perfect.  We stayed in one of the rooms above the restaurant and it was comfortable, immaculately clean, had a fantastic shower and we appreciated the extra touches of fresh milk and mini chocolates.  We had dinner in the restaurant in the evening and the Early Bird menu was a bargain as well as being delicious.  Breakfast the following morning set us up for another day's walking and we would certainly stay here again as well as recommend to fellow walkers.

We have stayed at The Willow many times, both in the rooms above the restaurant and in The Stable opposite. Margaret, the owner, has always gone out of her way to make us feel welcome and this is clearly the experience of many judging by the very high number of return visits which make it essential to book a room as early as possible, especially in high season. 

The "go the extra mile" touches in the rooms, such as the fresh flowers, selection of toiletries, and a bowl of sweets, are much appreciated. 

Margaret's breakfasts (especially full English!) are legendary and always set us up well for a day's walking in the Dales. On occasions we have asked for an early breakfast on account of the day's activities ahead, and this has always been laid on for us without any fuss.

The restaurant serves a range of very good homemade dishes so we usually opt to have dinner at The Willow as well when we stay there. Although you will need to plan some long routes to walk them off, the wonderful homemade cakes and desserts should also be sampled!

We can unreservedly recommend a stay at The Willow. You'll be well looked after, stay in clean and well looked after accommodation, and enjoy the best of homely Yorkshire cooking.

We stayed in Stable Cottage which is part of the Willow B&B and Restaurant enterprise. Stable Cottage is directly across the road from the Willow Restaurant and is a self contained apartment  comprising a double room a twin room and a lounge-diner. 

Our experience during our stay wasn't wonderful. The first impressions were of an unwelcoming host, not the usual friendly Yorkshire welcome! The host herself was generally unpleasant and verging on rude throughout our stay... we saw her at breakfast everyday but not once did she speak to us or even utter good morning. At no point during our 5 day stay did anyone's ask if everything was ok. 

The cottage itself was basic. Location-wise it is convenient for town but the trade off is that it is noisy and overlooked. There are only two opening windows both of which overlook a yard to the rear of various High Street businesses (see photo). There are two industrial extractors from restaurant kitchens immediately outside these bedroom windows and it certainly isn't a pretty view. We ended up having to leave the front door of the property open onto the street to get some air into the rooms. A fan would have been useful to get some air movement. 

The lounge/kitchen area had poorly closing blinds and no curtains which meant passers by could partially see into the property especially at night. There is also a large gap above the blinds which means the property opposite can look down on you. 

There is another property above stable cottage so any movement upstairs can be heard through the ceiling. 

Parking is advertised as included, however, this is in a free public car park off Park Road. Spaces are tight and it is a bit of a lottery on availability. None of the spaces are reserved for the residents of Stable Cottage or the B&B so getting a space is entirely down to luck  and timing! 

Throughout our stay considerable building/demolition work was taking place adjacent to the cottage and immediately outside the main bedroom window. The host made no mention of this or apology for it. However, the builder himself was very friendly and apologised directly to us whenever we saw him. 

As part of the booking breakfast is included at the Willow Restaurant. Breakfast is rigidly served between 0830-0930. The breakfasts were adequate and comprised a small helping of fruit salad, a pot of yoghurt, a drink and a choice of a hot dish. 

The whole experience was not worth the premium price being charged. We'll not be returning and would recommend others to look elsewhere.


Unwelcoming attitude, poor experience and certainly not worth the money

Lovely room large and inviting. Very comfortable chairs for sitting is a nice touch. Fantastic breakfast. If you want a full English but are not a very big eater ask for a smaller version with just one of everything instead of two. Good value for money compared with other offerings at a similar price and more expensive which only offer a private bathroom rather than en-suite.

Great place to stay and perfectly positioned, as quiet as just off Main Street but within very easy reach of lots of places to eat. We had a takeaway pizza which Margaret kindly let us eat in the back room as the restaurant was closed. Our room was spacious with a fridge with fresh milk which was much appreciated for a cuppa after completing part of the Nidderdale Way
