Lovely b&b in the heart of Tavistock. Room 1 with a private bathroom, immaculate,comfortable & quiet.
Paul & Carla are lovely hosts & made us feel very welcome. Excellent breakfast in the conservatory over looking the river. Would highly recommend & looking forward to our next visit.

OMG Excellent Stay- location is amazing for town centre - we were visiting Tavistock to go the the Wharf for a concert -wonderful hosts - brilliant breakfast in the conservatory with a view over the river.  Thank you so much for making us so welcome.  

Lovely bed and breakfast. We had a nice twin room with great river view.Bed comfortable. A very good cooked breakfast in the conservatory again with river view. Central location in Tavistock. Very good value for money. Will come to stay again when we visit. 

Comfortable one night stay in Tavistock. Our bedroom was at the rear of the property overlooking the River Tavi, clean and with a separate but private bathroom. Breakfast was freshly prepared and tasted very good, couldn’t have asked for more. The B&B accepted pets which was perfect for us, and is located only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Parking is tight, but the owner clearly has had plenty of practice at arranging cars on the driveway. We would definitely stay here again, and I would heartily recommend it.

Parking at the front of the cottage. Despite our room being at the front overlooking the road - the double glazed window is sufficient in blocking any traffic noise. We had a great nights sleep in the comfortable bed. Plenty of towels and nice bed linen.

Stayed here for 1 night - lovely cottage with very friendly hosts, and great location for the town.  Although located on the main road, absolutely no road noise at all.  Great breakfast in a lovely room overlooking the river.  Would definitely recommend and stay again if visiting the area

Ideal location for visiting the west side of Dartmoor, also a good place for an evening meal.with a variety of pubs and restaurants, take aways.
 The breakfast room is a particular delight..watching the river while being served with the best cooked food..ready for a good day exploring. 

We found this gem of a place on-line when we booked for a weekend away this summer.

It has the perfect location on the river Tavy right in the heart of the beautiful historic town of Tavistock, the Kingfisher Cottage offers a lovely location for exploring Dartmoor, West Devon and East Cornwall.

The accommodation is cosy, spotlessly clean and offers a quiet, comfortable retreat after a busy day exploring the local area.

The hosts, Paul and Carla are friendly, laid back and welcoming; they instantly make you feel at home.

The breakfast room is a sunny, beautiful sun room close to the charming river.  The excellent breakfast is cooked to order in unhurried relaxed tranquility.

We had a lovely couple of nights.

Close to the National Park and a short walk to the main street, we had a lovely stay. Paul the host was magnificent - cheerful, knowledgable and welcoming. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast to order was a great way to start the day. Highly recommended.

Fabulous relaxing weekend

Friendly Hosts and Beautiful, Central Location

Highly recommended: we were really looked after by Paul and Carla at Kingfisher Cottage. Comfortable, clean, excellent breakfast and wonderful to fall asleep to the gentle sound of the bubbling River Tavy. For cyclists secure storage is available and, as a keen cyclist himself, Paul can advise on route options!

Great place to stay and cyclist friendly

We spent most of August enjoying the hospitality of Paul and Carla at Kingfisher Cottage and from Day 1 we were made to feel Ike family!  
Delicious breakfasts overlooking the river Tavy, sometimes with the added delight of a flash of blue as the kingfisher darted past or dived into the sparkling water. Lovely comfy room with everything you could want.  
The cottage is positioned right in the heart of Tavistock, so within walking distance of everything - just perfect.  Paul’s knowledge of the area is a great help when deciding where to visit and his recommendations and suggestions were always spot on. 
This will always be our home away from home whenever we visit Tavistock and we have already recommended Kingfisher Cottage to other family and friends.

Who could ask for anything more? Just perfect.

Paul & Carla were excellent hosts, all our needs and requests were accommodated with a friendly attitude and efficiency.  They were amazing with our Dachshund who had come with us on this trip.
Breakfast was lovely and we couldn't resist having a cooked up English every day we were there. 
Our room was comfy and had everything we needed. There was a hair dryer, TV, fan, mirror. Heated towel rail in the bathroom.  Triple glazing against the road noise was ideal, didn't hear a thing!
The downstairs living area was a nice space to relax in when we had time too. Has a comfy home vibe.

King of a B&B

We stayed for one night in order to enjoy an evening at The Wharf without having to drive.
Paul was a very welcoming host and the room was comfortable and clean with a stunning view of the river.
We slept really well and thoroughly enjoyed our bacon and eggs in the morning.  Our hosts were really accommodating and went out of their way to ensure we had a good stay.
A great find - we will definitely be staying again.

A great stay

This is a lovely property on the river bank with in easy walking distance of the interesting town centre.  The owner, Paul, was very helpful in answering pre-visit queries very promptly and welcoming once we arrived.

Our room, on the riverside was quiet (even with the windows open) and comfortable.  The shower facilities in our private bathroom were excellent and spotlessly clean.  The fluffy robes were a real luxury.

Eating a well-cooked breakfast in the sunny conservatory was a highlight.

Welcoming and Comfortable Place to stay

We went to a wedding in Tavistock and booked into Kingfisher Cottage as it was close to the venue.  A delightful location and excellent hosts. We cannot thank them enough as although we only spent one night, Paul our host, personally drove us to the venue when we couldn’t get a taxi.  Definitely over and above and I expect a one-off however very much appreciated.  Breakfast in the morning was very generous and the range on offer could no be faulted.  We are now looking to an opportunity to visit again!

One day stay

Comfortable room on the edge of town with short walk to eating and drinking places. The room was spotlessly clean and had tea/coffee making facilities and a fan which was welcome during the hot nights. A lovely seating area at the rear overlooking the river which is a great place to relax in the evening with a drink. Perfect hosts who provide a perfect breakfast. Perfectbase for exploring the local area
