I was a lorry driver passing past I suffer from bad stomach pains and required a tolite  stop in here and was greeted by the manger I requested to use the tolite and he was very polite and very welcoming even though I wasn't a customer the reception was very clean and tidy and so were the tolites people that put other ppl first instead of making a sale deserve the utmost respect and deserve the business couldn't thank them enough  great hotel 😀 

Great hotel 

Popped in for a coffee on the way to Oban. We were greeted at the door by a friendly member of staff  and brought through to the old bar which I can imagine was once bustling when the area was busier. Nice old decor but a lack of atmosphere. Coffee was nice and had a homemade millionaire shortbread to compliment it. This hotel could be an amazing little spot, but seems a shadow of its former self.  Needs some TLC and updating.

Decent, lots of potential

We popped in one evening for drinks and pudding .. very pleasant ‘old world’ pub, reminds me of when I was younger (although my kids thought we were in the Middle Ages).  Puddings were exceptionally good (esp. sticky toffee pudding).  My wife makes a great STP, and this was at least as good 😁

Over priced pub and a miserable landlord, not a bit helpful. Food alright but not worth the price. No food Sunday and Mondays. Lovely little village spoiled by I dont like to say a yorkshire man, Wife tried her best though.

stayed here on two separate occasions over a 3 month period.  It's a hotel that has all the basics, but needs more customers, and that would mean more turnover and then more investment could be made on furnishings and decoration... but that's the same with many west coast hotels with low footfall.  The staff I found to be welcoming, thoughtful and willing to please.  The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable and the showers hot and high pressure even on the top floor.
Good value for money too,  and the bar food is well cooked and presented, and the locals are happy to chat.  all in all a good little hotel that deserves to get more custom....so stop by and help a good business become a great one .....and note  I have no connection with the hotel - just a satisfied customer that wants things to continue on an upwards trend

West coast village hotel with great character

Very accommodating staff, breakfast plentiful, country setting, and great music at bar in hotel that ends at 23:00. Enjoy our stay!

Absolute hidden gem! 10 of us stopped in last minute for food as we couldn’t get a reservation at any local restaurants, the food was unbelievable, fresh, large portions and full of flavour, 5 star quality in pub style surroundings. Service was excellent, so much so we went back on our last day to do it all over again. Highly recommended!

South of Oban, Scotland and along the coast is this quaint village of Kilmelford. The Hotel is an interesting old coach house. Our room was on the top level . A three flight walk-up and worth it for the view. We dined at the inn and supper was excellent.

Off the Beaten Path Retreat

Possibly the worst customer service I've ever experienced in Argyll, maybe the whole of Scotland. Just simply rude. Maybe the dated customer service attitude comes with the dated building. I can't believe this place is still in business with the way the staff member spoke to me (male, glasses, beard). If he wasn't the manager then I'd advise the manager to sack him ASAP before he turns off more of your customers. If he is the manager or owner then perhaps he should consider another line of business that doesn't involve having to speak to other human beings.

Do yourself a favour if  considering this place... Carry on down the road to the Melfort Hotel or head back to Oban where there are hotels and restaurants that actually want your business and treat you with respect.

Avoid at all costs

Stayed here this spring with my family. The hotel has all the old world charm you could ever ask for. The bar is cozy and welcoming and very well stocked. The owners are super friendly and sat down and chatted with us well into the evening. Was one of our favorite stops on our Scottish adventure.
