Sheep Fank Cottage

We loved our stay again with our hostess.  Just a hop, skip and a jump from Oban, Sheep Fank Cottage is a lovely country place.  Watching the sheep and cattle is a joy.  Our bedroom was so comfortable we slept like babies.  Huge bed you can almost get lost in.  The seating area in the room is very comfortable and you feel so at home here.  Breakfast was great.  The eggs were perfection as was everything else.  The scrambled eggs were a dream as was the omelette.  This is the most wonderful B & B and we already look forward to when we will go again.

Just returned from 4  night stay at Sheep Fank Cottage 4 miles out of Oban.  Fantastic accommodation, friendly, helpful hosts and in beautiful countryside.  Jane's breakfasts were lovely and plenty on offer. Jane even presented croissants at breakfast on a couple of mornings that we didn't ask for but ate with relish anyway. Jane advised us of places to visit an routes to take. Room was massive, more like small apartment with bathroom, king size bed, TV and sitting area.  Views from the three windows in the room  were breathtaking. 
We will definitely return to this beautiful, quiet area and will stay with Jane and Jeff, hopefully.

This has to be the best B&B I've ever stayed at. Jane has thought of everything from the room to the breakfast. Our room was enormous with its own TV area and chairs. The attention to detail was superb- bedside lights that went on and off by touch alone, an Alexa, a Smart TV, even a small step to reach the blackout blinds. Everything was immaculate and I had one of the best nights sleep ever in these beds. My son loved the buttons on the electronic-secure doors! The breakfasts were superb- the Stornoway black pudding was something else. Jane also gave us lots of tips of places to visit and I think the plunge pool/waterfall just 5 mins away was the highlight of the holiday. Jane was happy to lend us some towels for this excursion. Oban is just 10 mins drive away, which is handy. My 8 year old son thought we were on 'Four in a Bed' as that is his only association with B&Bs and this was his first experience. What a great first expereince to have. Jane- you are certainly our Winner!

Wow, walked into this B and B and thought we had arrived in heaven, we were given the mull room. It was so large and so clean and modern. I suffer with a lung condition and nothing was too much trouble. The bed was too die for, I slept better than I had for years. We would go back at a drop of a hat, still telling everyone about it. Thank you so much for looking after us so well.

Just returned home from a lovely stay at Sheep Fank cottage. We had a lovely room with a very comfortable bed and did not want for anything. The food was excellent and there was nothing Jane could not provide. A wonderful b&b, we would not think of staying anywhere else .

Our lovely large room was just wonderful and the bed so comfortable.  Jane is just wonderful.  We think this is one of the best B & Bs we've ever been too and we've been to a lot.  The breakfast is outstanding.  Her eggs are done to perfection.  If you have health issues or food allergies, Jane is right there to help.  Sheep Fank is one of the places we keep coming back too because it is so wonderful.

We have recently had a fantastic 5 day stay at the lovely Sheep Fank Cottage in Oban.  We were made to feel extremely welcome and our room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were second to none and I would like to thank Jane for also giving me a lift into town one morning when I was without transport.  We would definitely stay here again if we were ever in the area.

Sheep Fank is to put it simply a wonderful place to stay in Argyll. Jane Darby is a fantastic host and she did her best to make sure I had a good b&b experience. The Iona room and ensuite were very spacious, comfortable and very clean. The breakfasts were absolutely spot-on with generous portions and all my requirements were met and exceeded. One morning I went down to have breakfast at 7:00 am instead of 8:00 as I requested the previous night and Jane was very gracious and fixed me a great meal. All in all a great place to stay while visiting Argyll and exploring the neighboring islands and a good part of the Highlands.

The two nights spent here where nothing less than fabulous. Our host, Jane, did her utmost to make our sejour most pleasant as possible. Located far from the madding crowd, a katzenspring from   beaultifull Oban.

The reputation of Sheep Fank B&B has as a great place to stay is well deserved. Evert thing was as close to perfect as it could be. We had to twin  bed room with a private bathroom across the hall for two nights. It is a large room with sitting chairs. Breakfasts were some of the best we have had. Jane gave us some very useful touring information. We saw things we wouldn't have seen without her tips.

As Good As It Gets

This was the last place we stayed before it was time to head home from our tour of Scotland and was by far the best B&B we stayed at of our 12 days. We received a very warm welcome and having stayed in a luxurious room we learned the day we were leaving there was an even better room but it wasn't available when we booked. Everywhere was spotless and the en-suite just sparkled. There was a good selection available for breakfast which set us up for the day and it was necessary to ask Jane to cut down on the portion size. The house was situated down a quiet country lane overlooking grazing land; all was peace and quiet. Jane and Jeff were a mine of useful information on where to go and where to eat. All in all a great stay and we hope to go back again next year.

A great place to stay

What a great find! This wonderful B&B is truly first class. Off the beaten track, so nice and quiet but near enough to Oban to go for a meal in the evening. Jane was an exceptional host. The house was immaculate, rooms very spacious and the breakfasts are beyond compare with any five star hotel. You must try the scotch pancakes. The best place we stayed on our two week road trip, and that includes the spa hotels. Thank you Jane & Jeff for your hospitality. We will all be back next year!
