Stayed her for 3 night as a couple .what a wee gem of a place .Joan the owner is such a lovely lady. who is so friendly and helpful. such a lovely place to stay and the views are fab . would definitely stay there again if we go back to Oban . and very reasonably priced .all the wee touches make it so lovely and cozy .rooms are good shower was fab .couldn't fault it

What a treat!  Lovely B&B, quintessentially Scottish with it's tartan carpet.  Joan (the owner) was a complete delight, such a lovely lady.  The view from our room looked across to Kerrera, it was travel brochure worthy!

Great location, a very short walk into the town (a slight hill, but not too steep at all). Plenty of parking.  This is the fourth place we've stayed in Oban and by far our most favourite

I had reservations on staying here in the beginning, but sure glad I stayed as it is the best place to stay. Scene from this place is absolutely breathe taking. Waking up to the view really puts a smile on your face. It is so comfy and beautiful inside too. The host Joan really makes you feel like you are home. I look forward to staying here again on my next visit.

Lovely warm friendly reception from the host Joan, the en-suite room was well decorated and very clean, the house had a very Scottish fell,  it was delightful. There is also a lounge (photo of sunset view from lounge window added) for guests to relax in with some interesting golf memorabilia and a lovely patio overlooking the sea with table and chairs. The breakfast was a full continental with lots to choose from, all very fresh and tasty including a variety of cold meats and salmon. Oban itself is a lovely picturesque little town with plenty of bars restaurants and shops and a vibrant harbour, well worth a visit.

We stayed here for 2 nights in  Sept 2021 and loved it. Landlady(Joan) was so welcoming when we arrived and was very knowledgeable about the area. Our room was clean and comfortable with an en-suite bathroom with complimentary toiletries. Good free WiFi. There was a guest lounge on the 1st floor which had an amazing view over the town and a good size TV.

Thank you so much to Joan for the faultless hospitality! Hubby and I stayed 2 nights in this beautiful guest house and were warmly welcomed by the lovely owner Joan. The guest house is spotlessly clean and the attention to detail inside and out in the gardens is faultless. We had a stunning sea view from our room, which was immaculate and very comfortable indeed. The guest house is a short walk to the town which was very convenient, to pop back to the town in the evening for a meal without having to use the car was a bonus. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer here! We think it should be 5 star and woukd highly recommend!

Bold tartan carpet warmly greets you . There is nothing insipid about the tasteful decor or the welcome. Covid limited the breakfast options but the views over the bay were stunning. The room was ok and it met our needs for the week. The bed was very comfortable.
The shared lounge was magnificent.
Our host Joan was scrupulous about cleanliness and hygeine  which was very reassuring. We noticed throughout our 3 week tour that Scotland is much more unified in complying with covid regulations than England.
Joan is a mine of information and we ignored her advice once about where to eat and paid the price.
This fine building is up a short hill 10 minutes walk from the town centre. The town is busy so its best to book in advance. Currently ferries have only.a third capacity so advance bookings are essential. There is choice for every budget.
All in all the Glenbervie makes an excellent base and we will return.

My friend and I stayed a week with Joan.The whole experience was magical.From meeting Joan we had room 1 great for us as we had walked up from the station.We got a bit lost and we were helped by 4l bikers who we stopped to ask directions.They
took our cases and guided us to our destination.Everything was perfect.Joans breakfast was very filling.The view from the sitting room was amazing.A very big thanks.

My daughter and I spent 3 nights here last week.  Joan was very welcoming on arrival and greeted us by name.  Cosy room on ground floor which had all we required, along with a lovely view.  Breakfast was well cooked and generous portions. Thank you

The last weekend of March marked my first visit to Oban. Although, I spend my time outside when travelling, I always look for highly recommended places to stay as they add to the experience.
Glenbervie Guest House definitely classifies as such. My travel companion and I arrived earlier than the check-in time yet the room was ready. It was a pleasant surprise to see all the teas, coffees and even hot chocolate stocked at the table.
The room might not have been considered big as per our modern standards but it was more than comfortable for this stay. If you are lucky you may even get one with a view towards the bay. The house also has a beautiful lounge where you could enjoy some quiet time.
The breakfast was between 8 and 9. I saw from other reviews that having that kind of time slot was a problem but it worked great for us. We went for a sunrise shoot at Kilchurn Castle and came back just in time. The tables are allocated in advance which I personally think saves time and hustle. The breakfast was tasty and exactly what you expect from a guest house - Full Scottish, variety of wrapped cheese, toasts and jams, juice, etc. Not to mention the crackling fireplace behind my back while I was enjoying all of this.
The location of the house was ideal. High enough to get the views yet no more than 5 minutes walk to the centre. Please keep in mind that it is a bit of a climb when you are coming back. Nothing strenuous for the average traveller though. 
An added bonus was the free parking. It is always a relief to just find your accommodation, park and head out exploring.

A Victorian Gem in a Picturesque Town 

I stayed here for two nights and found it clean, comfortable and welcoming. My room (Room 2) had a lovely en-suite bathroom and very comfortable bed, though as it was at the back of the house there was no view over the bay. Excellent cooked breakfasts set me up for the day each morning. The location is excellent though it is reasonable climb from the waterfront. Good value for money.
