I didn't actually get to stay at the Yellow House as the owner does not make her conditions clear until AFTER you have booked. It was only after I'd made my reservation and paid that I was informed that, as this was her home, not simply a commercial B&B, I would have to get along with her dog, who has free reign downstairs and, among other limitations, my husband and I would have to be back in the house (after a family anniversary party some miles away) no later than midnight, otherwise we would be denied entry.

I exercised my cancellation rights and said thanks. But no thanks.

Coincidentally, the anniversary come themselves had booked there too, and went as far as to request a little flexibility as they are, in essence, her neighbours. Her reply was blunt and her position unmoved.

So.it looks like a beautiful home, but read the small print when the confirmation arrives...

Disappointed...

I only stopped one night, but I found the room very comfortable indeed.  The house is peaceful, and I found Suzanne to be a friendly and congenial host.  The dog is friendly and well behaved, and the breakfast was excellent.

Would definitely stop again.

A lovely, well appointed, quiet b+b

We booked this B&B because of it's location, otherwise we would have stayed in a hotel for the same price. The bedroom was fine and nicely furnished, although access to  this third floor room was up steep stairs.  The en-suite was very small and with the sloping roof made it difficult to get in to the shower.  Some extra care and attention needed to cleaning the toilet and shower. 
 
However our biggest disappointment was with the owner's attitude. In the hospitality industry we found the owner rather inhospitable and  she made us feel like we were intruding.   We did not welcome sharing our breakfast with her dog at the breakfast table.  We cannot recommend and will not be staying again, which is a shame as we regularly visit this area.

Customer service...or customers intruding?

Room was nice; bathroom very tiny with hardly any room to get into the shower. Also, room is on the third floor with rather steep stairs so not good for seniors. Breakfast was served in a crowded, messy kitchen. When I wanted to take the rest of my coffee up to the room the hostess told me absolutely not. When I asked if the tap water was safe to drink she replied rudely: "What do you think this is, a third world country ? "
Perhaps this woman should not be running a bed and breakfast...she seemed irritated and made us feel as if we were intruding.

Rude host

I have just tried to book a room for my colleague who is staying in the area for the next couple of nights and had the most terrible customer service.
At first, the woman on the phone seemed fed up and irritated that I had called, I put it down to a rather busy day and breezed over it in hope to get a reservation, however, once I gave my colleagues name she demanded his private home address. I told her I am unable to disclose this private information and asked if I could provide her with the head office address. The woman was not pleased and started raising her voice at me, once again I offered her the business address or we wouldn't be able to book a room at her B&B to which she abruptly and rudely said 'fine, bye' before slamming the phone down.
It's a shame that the customer service here is so poor as the B&B actually looks nice! We visit the area on a weekly basis and could have brought some great business to this B&B but after this I will forever skim over them.
We will not even attempt to book here again.
