only a 10 minute walk from the coach station, this small but nice Studio apartment is in the center of Bristol city center, everything from shops restaurants, exhibitions to bars and nightlife, was only couple of minutes away. the apartment has everything you would want.

Nice Studio appartments in the heart of Bristol

I would strongly advise against booking here. Firstly, when I got my confirmation e-mail from Berkeley Apartments, the attached 'Terms and conditions' wouldn't download. I sent them an e-mail pointing this out and asking a couple of questions about the booking, but they never replied. It says everything about their values as a company that they give customers an e-mail address to reach them on but don't bother to check it.

The photographs make the rooms seem much larger than they are - it's literally a double bed, a cupboard, a kitchen, a small table and a couple of chairs, with very little space. The website describes it as 'luxurious' - I would describe it as 'bleak'. There's no sound proofing so you can hear everything that goes on in the other apartments - people talking, TVs playing, children crying - and this went on until late in the night so I couldn't sleep.

When I arrived, the window was jammed so I couldn't open it, making the room very stuffy and airless. The hob is one of those touch-sensitive ones and I couldn't operate it. I phoned the owner to ask for help and managed to get through to him with difficulty. When he finally replied, he unhelpfully told me the wrong button was the one that turned it on. It took him over an hour to send the handyman to help me, while I waited and grew increasingly hungry because I couldn't cook anything.

The owner also sent me a handbook which claimed that they provide guests with a 'welcome pack' of teabags, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc. I didn't receive any pack, and when I phoned the office to enquire they denied that they provide one. They didn't apologise for misleading customers or explain why they spread this misinformation, but they oh-so-generously agreed to send round a bottle of washing up liquid after I insisted.

It's very difficult to cook anything in the kitchen because they don't provide what I would consider to be essential cooking equipment, such as a vegetable peeler or a sieve. I had to buy some items at my own expense. The blind was badly fitted on my window so the street lamp outside shone around the edges and made it very bright, which again made it hard to sleep. The light in the corridor outside is motion-sensitive, so sometimes I'd step out into a pitch-black corridor and had to walk up and down to trigger the light so I could see to lock my door. 

It's really poor accommodation, and definitely not worth the very high prices they charge.
