The service here is very nice, and it's hard to beat the convenience to the train station. The hotel is situated on the east end of the tourist area, so you can easily walk to all the sites you want to see from here. The rooms get stuffy with the windows closed, which is a problem because the street outside is very noisy at all times of day and night. The rooms are also sanitary but not exactly sparkling. It's a fine place to stay.

A good room in a good place

Wonderful welcome from the excellent friendly, efficient, and professional employees who are a massive credit to the business.

The room was compact but perfect for the night's stay, it was spotlessly clean and well-decorated.

The bed was very comfortable and aided a good night's sleep with crisp white linen.

The modern TV was small but more than adequate, however, the Wi-Fi was a little hit-and-miss in terms of connectivity and speed.

The room benefited from an in-room sink yet the bathroom was along the corridor again this was spotlessly clean and if not the offer was there for it to be cleaned at any time, exceptional service.

The Central Hotel is more of a guest house than a hotel mainly because it does not have a bar or restaurant.

Location is great for the city railway station less than a five-minute walk away, the main city centre area is about a twenty-minute walk or a short bus ride costing £1.50.

Fantastic....

Very considerate friendly and thoughtful staff, comfy beds, decent shower. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked. Close to the night life so didn't need to wait around for taxis. Very happy, thank you

Very pleasant and helpful staff

Beautiful location, really welcoming host, couldn’t have been any more helpful, even helped me park 😂 breakfast was really nice from a local farm. Cosy room really comfortable nice and warm, would definitely stay again, thank you 😊  hotel is lovely.

Lovely hotel

I've stayed in this hotel many times since early 2015, more recently in July 2022. The location is perfect for anyone arriving by train and the hotel itself has a wonderful Victorian charm with gorgeous views over the River Wensum. Staff couldn't have been more welcoming, supportive and helpful throughout my recent stay. Nothing was too much trouble - all queries were handled efficiently, and attention to detail was meticulous, e.g. fans provided during the mini-heatwave. Bed linen is spotless, cleaning is thorough, and, for a budget hotel, this is a very well managed operation. I'm grateful to Raymond (the manager) and his team for making me feel so welcome and I congratulate them on the work that has been put into upgrading the hotel and making it a safe and pleasant place to stay in Norwich.

Excellent value all round

A quick one night stay while visiting the city and university. Lovely rooms and the wonderful staff very kindly upgraded my single room to a double en suite which was wonderful! Excellent service. Beds were slightly too hard and walls a bit thin but overall great deal and great accommodation only a minutes walk to the station.

Fab, clean and kind

The Central is very close to Norwich station on the banks of the River Wensum.

There are currently major roadworks in the vicinity so it’s a little more tricky than usual to get there, but still only five minutes away.

I had a single room with en suite facilities. My bed was comfortable, tea and coffee making facilities were supplied and there was sufficient wardrobe space.

The shower was decent with a plentiful supply of hot water.

I did not have breakfast, and one night cost a bargain £45.

Excellent Value and Location

I booked this because I couldn't get a reasonable price booking in a big chain hotel.  I usually prefer chains, because you're guaranteed good quality. 

Central by far outdid my favourite chain hotel.  

I was upgraded, was provided with a parking permit and was given a beautifully quiet room.  The bed was fantasic, with an incredibly comfortable mattress.  I had the best nights sleep I've ever had in a hotel. 

I won't bother with the big hotels in future.  I'll definitely be booking with Central again 

Fantastic

A very outdated hotel.  Location is great but the condition of the rooms had us searching for bugs.  Many better options in the City.  Unfortunately it needs a complete overhaul.  If you are staying for a night don’t go under the covers.  Too bad, great view of the canal.

Extremely dated

Filthy room, dirty shower, hair in shower tray, mould and limescale in bathroom, not seen a duster in a while. Window frames dirty, tv remote didn't work. 
Old, smelly, mismatched furniture,  Won't be staying there again.
