The Sea Hotel was lovely, very central in South Shields and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ideal offering a good choice.I was unlucky in that the room next door had a guy with an annoying voice who talked loudly and kept me awake until 1.30am, showing no consideration for fellow hotel guests.  Nothing to do with the hotel of course, just bad luck being next door to an idiot!

This is a repeat visit. Staff are all geordies profess to be kind helpful and funny. Just love the area. We drove 315 miles to get here and worth it. On a negative note dont do their Sunday lunch its awful. Go and have fish and chips at Colemans

Very friendly staff. Food at the restaurant was excellent.

Friendly staff, bedroom was fine but bathroom was a let down, looking tired and mixer taps shower.

All the reviews that say that Sea Hotel is old, dated, unclean ARE ALL FAKE. I am very difficult to please but I found Sea Hotel exceptionally clean, new, fresh, refurbished. Comfortable mattress. New towels and linen. New plush carpet in my room. Neutral colours, white and grey. Refurbished bathroom. No dust anywhere in my room. Brand new shiny kettle. Sea Hotel South Shields is the best Hotel in the UK. Engaging with the staff was very pleasant at check in and check out. They used my name in talking to me which was very nice. Well done Sea Hotel.

Stayed for Great North Run.You were able to get food in the restaurant.  Rooms were decent enough for what I required

Lovely central hotel

We stayed here the night after the Great North Run, when the prices were significantly higher, which was somewhat expected. The hotel was fine overall, though there was noticeable wear and tear in the room, like broken tiles and worn furniture. However, it's not advertised as a luxury place, so this wasn’t a big issue.The location is great, with a nice view of the sea and plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. We dined in the hotel's bar area, where they offered two menus: one for the bar, mostly burgers with just one vegetarian option, and a restaurant menu with one vegetarian and one fish option. They allowed us to order from the restaurant menu while sitting in the bar area.I initially ordered the vegetarian option, but after 10 minutes, the staff informed me they were out of halloumi and couldn’t prepare it. Normally, I would have gone elsewhere, but since my friend’s food was almost ready, I chose the fish option instead. There was a £3 price difference, and I was surprised they charged me for it, considering it was their mistake. The food itself was quite nice, though we didn’t stay for breakfast.

Five Stars. First Class.

A one night stay to visit family, the room was clean and comfortable with a view of the sea and fairground….. although at night it wasn’t noisy.We had a lovely breakfast included in the room rate too. If you’re looking for a nice hotel in a fantastic location this is the place to stay. Can highly recommended.

Sea Hotel stay.

I was told it was going through refurbishment and what I saw was nice Rooms were warm  and comfortable the young ladyHelp us on the first day which she helped use are first room was too small so she moved us to a different room bigger and better and we like to say thank you to here for make are stay nice and comfortable and she explain you got a diamond

Warm welcome, place could do with a lick of paint. Beds are too hard for me but room has everything you need.
