Having read all of the rave reviews about Yew Tree Cottage we decided to book and we were not disappointed. Teanie and Richard were amazing hosts, nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the Rose Room for a couple of nights, the room was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed, the en-site was of a very good size with a great Power Shower. The Breakfast was absolutely delicious, nothing was spared and it certainly set us up for the day.

The Cottage is situated in an ideal location for Matlock, Bakewell and surrounding areas of interest, we were very fortunate to have stayed there as Teanie and Richard are selling up and retiring, a great loss for the Hospitality Business in this area, enjoy your retirement!!!!

Superb Bed & Breakfast

We loved our stay at Yew Tree Cottage - felt more like a five star hotel, spotlessly clean, excellent breakfast and fantastic hosts, an absolute gem. Teanie and Richard certainly know how to run a five star B&B, nothing was too much trouble, nothing was rushed - please don't retire!! Highly recommend.

Wish I could give ten stars!

this is not a B&B , it is a superb   cottage home that welcomes and cares for its guests . Absolutely beautiful house , garden and location .  The service is outstanding ,host is charming , friendly and NOTHING is too much trouble . this is the BEST ever short stay we have experienced , personal and caring . Breakfast is on par with any 5* hotel.

We really enjoyed our weekend here.  Nothing was too much trouble.  They are a lovely, friendly, welcoming couple. Best breakfast ever. The rooms are so comfortable and I could have stayed in the shower all day!

Best b and b ever

Just had a wonderful two nights at Yew Tree Cottage. Teanie and Richard made us feel very welcome and couldn’t have been better hosts. We stayed in the Rose Room. The bed is very comfortable and the en-suite is lovely. The breakfast was fantastic and I even came home with two of Teanie’s home made jam recipes. It’s an ideal location for visiting Matlock, Bakewell etc...

An excellent B&B.  Great hosts for whom nothing was too much trouble, very comfortable room and excellent breakfasts! Thanks Teanie and Richard for making us feel safe on our first weekend away following the Covid lockdown. We will be back!

Lovely weekend break

Teanie is a wonderful host. She is so attentive and will do anything to help you enjoy your stay.
The cottage is beautiful and in a lovely quiet village - it’s very relaxing!
We were the first visitors after the Covid lockdown was lifted and Teanie had gone out of her way to ensure she stuck to the guidance about running a B&B during the covid pandemic. 
The breakfast was perfect - the home made fruit salad was extremely tasty and the cooked breakfast was cooked to perfection - the use of local china crockery made this all the more unique.
The cottage is well placed for lots of walks and local attractions. Thank you for such a Iovely stay we look forward to returning once things are calmer!!

Picturesque cottage with 5 star host

We stayed with Teanie and Richard for a few days whilst exploring some of the peak district and came across this amazing B and B! 
Our hosts were really lovely, friendly and nothing too much trouble! 
Breakfast is the most amazing event where u can enjoy as little or as much as you want and I had a delicious treat on day 2 with a smoked salmon bagel topped with sauted mushroom, tomato and onion finished with hollandaise sauce and freshly snipped chives! Best breakfast ever! My boyfriend tucked into local sausage,bacon,tomato and eggs fried to perfection! 
The homemade fruit salad is another must in this quiet and charming cottage!

We also visited padley gorge and lumsden falls which were beautiful and very close by and can also recommend the Sri Lankan restaurant in the village for dinner!

The best breakfast ever! 

iIf Disney is looking to cast a newcomer in the star role for the next Mary Poppins movie, I think I have found the ideal candidate....

But first, the usual review stuff. If you have read the other reviews you will know all about how wonderful this place is and how particular Teanie is to ensure you are made welcome. I cannot add much more other than vouch for the accuracy of the 5 star reviews

But I want to focus on how Teanie goes above and beyond what you could reasonably expect as a b&b hostess to respond to guests’ predicaments. 

We attended a family wedding on the wettest day in August, the reception to be held in a marquee on a field nearby. After she acted as parking coordinator, I was treated to an ironing lesson to ensure my outfit was perfect  We were given umbrellas by Teanie for protection and when we returned, absolutely soaked through, she took our clothes to dry them

 We also had a minor medical situation and she came to our rescue with the minimum of fun

So unflappable. I cannot think of a better quality for the next Mary Poppins 

I imagine she was mighty relieved when we left

Ps I should add husband Richard makes a mean homemade jam (apple and blackberry being my favourite).

A delightful setting. Warm greeting with a cup of tea and Bakewell tart. Extremely comfortable room. Breakfasts "out of this world"! Every attention to detail. Easy access to all the Peak District.
 Highly recommended.
