Stayed here for one night on our travels and so pleased we did.  Hosts are very welcoming.  The room was cottage style and quaint.  The pub had a lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious, especially the plentiful breakfast.  Situated in a very nice village surrounded by countryside views.  We would definitely be happy to stay here again.

Perfect overnight experience

My son, nephew and I stayed on Saturday 19th August after a family wedding in the area.  We arrived early and our hosts made sure that our rooms were ready early as we needed to change clothes for the wedding.  They were very welcoming.  The rooms were lovely and the beds extremely comfortable.
The only criticism is a slightly wonky shower door.  Breakfast was substantial and delicious.  We would stay here again if travelling in the area and I would certainly recommend this small and delightful hotel.

Happy hotel experience

This has become a favorite place to escape to for a relaxing night away. Just perfect. Our room was so comfortable and scrupulously clean. Always made to feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The bar and restaurant is very cosy and inviting, and the menu is always tempting. All dishes prepared to order, expertly cooked and presented. 



Another lovely stopover

Tried the new lunch menu, excellent range of choices, good beer and a nice fire. Gammon egg and chips were super and reasonable price £10. Will go again, it’s a must to visit this lovely pub. Food always cooked well and nicely presented. If you’ve not been, well worth a visit

Excellent new lunch menu

We came over for dinner and to stay in the rooms, both did not disappoint nor did the breakfast! 
The staff on arrival were very friendly and quick to check in and help us to our rooms. The rooms themselves were very clean and modern, comfy beds and with all the facilities you need in a b&b! Nothing was too much trouble. 
The pub itself is situated in a beautiful, tranquil village with lovely walks available around. As the sun was shining, we got to enjoy drinks on the decked area at the pub which is full of colourful flowers and very well kept. 
Our dinner in the a la carte restaurant was beautiful and very tasty.. we both opted for a starter- I had the bruschetta, my friend has the scallops (amazing!!) and then for mains we both had steak and for dessert shared a cheeseboard. Hats off to the chef! There was a good choice of meals on the menu.  The next morning we both had a full English, which was beautiful and set us up for the day. 
We both enjoyed our visit and cannot wait to return, thank you!

Beautiful country pub

If you are wanting something rural this may just be the place, when I say rural I mean it in the sense that it is not slick, lumpy small bed the courtyard is the old pub carpark full of merry locals (no early sleeping) and therefor no parking. Food offerings vary from burgers to steak to nothing depending on the day of the week - but the breakfast is great.. needs a lot more work done everything is looking tired, a dream realised and then Covid came along and scuppered the plans.. even the chelsea tractor was not the dreamed of model..

Great afternoon tea served on Thursdays, wonderfull sandwiches and cakes reasonably priced. Need to book in advance. Friendly staff and nice surroundings, can have it outside in the summer. Four types of sandwich, fresh scones with creAm and jam and a selection of small cakes. Fab mini trifle!

Stayed for one night whilst visiting family nearby. The accommodation was immaculate, the setting idyllic and the welcome warm. We spent a pleasant evening enjoying some local beers in the beer garden before heading to our clean and spacious accommodation. Very dog friendly too!

Great hospitality and quality food

Fancied somewhere different for an meal and liked the reviews we had read. Exceeded expectations by a long way. The surroundings were perfect, a lovely balance between eating and dining.Hospitality was superb and the food outstanding. The attention  to detail really made a difference. We had a Tomahawk steak which was cooked to perfection. You will have to go a long way to find better. We wish you well with you new venture not that you need it. Hope to be back soon with friends.
