Stayed here for three nights in Room 9. Very comfortable room, clean and excellent facilities. Plenty of coffee tea and biscuits. Good selection of toiletries. Plenty of hot water for showers. It was lovely to sit on the private balcony and watch the world go by.
Breakfast was delicious, lots of fresh fruit, cereal, toast and good quality coffee. Dan looked after us and cooks a mean breakfast.
We ate in the MeatHub, we were able to have our food in the breakfast room. I can honestly say it was the best meal we had while we were away. The portions were large, and the food was cooked to perfection by Dan. Can’t wait to return later in the year.

We really enjoyed our stay and felt really welcome.
The room was very clean and had everything we needed.
The bed was very comfortable.
We had great views of the sea and river from the private balcony.
The breakfast selection was excellent and we both thoroughly enjoyed the full English which was cooked to perfection.
Only positive criticism was the bath could do with a new bath panel and a heated towel rail in the bathroom for drying the towls for the morning after an evening shower.

We stayed at Riverside with our cavapoo ‘Biscuit’. Dan and Debbie made us feel so welcome and it was very relaxing. The breakfast was amazing and an added bonus is that they have a take away business which is available 5 days a week which certainly added to the experience. Also, it is so nice to have a balcony and with a super view. Looking forward to going back again.

You know when a business is doing something right when you return for a fourth time! Debbie and Dan yet again were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Our room with a balcony and beautiful views overlooking the river/sea was very spacious, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. 
This year we had the added bonus of the newly opened Meathub which is attached to the B&B and provides very tasty and exceptional food, a must to try even if you don’t stay at Riverside. We tried everything on the menu and everything was  delicious. The negative reviews found on the website do not reflect our experience, we’ve always received exceptional service from this B&B and have always found Debbie and Dan a breath of fresh air, from their bubbly down to earth personalities to their home made banana cake. This year has been a difficult year for my partner and I as he was diagnosed  with frontotemporal dementia. I informed Debbie on arrival of his condition just in case he became vacant whilst talking to him and she was very understanding, in fact the laid back atmosphere and kindness of all the staff contributed to Rob feeling very relaxed, a first in months. Health permitting we will definitely be returning. Keep up the good work!

Comfortable sea view room  and river view with a balcony , perfect for switching off and taking time out and relaxing .

Fifth visit to Lynmouth for the the Exmoor walking and first time staying at Riverside.  What a great find.  Incredibly friendly and open.  The host is great fun and nothing appears too much trouble.  Its situated in the centre right by the riverside.  Breakfast was so fresh with a great choice.  If you’re arriving by car go to tourist info and get parking ticket for the whole time of your stay.  Don’t forget to book direct with Riverside rather than go through one of the booking sites.  You get exactly the same deal.

Only the happiest memories of our stay here.  Breakfast was particularly good and the views out of the bijou bedrooms were great.  Has a nice feel to it and everyone we met (particularly the breakfast lady) could not have been more helpful or solicitous.  Parking was not really a problem (not in October anyway) and Lynmouth makes a great spot to base yourself if you are plodding along the SWC Path - as we are.

An amazing stay in Lynmouth at Riverside Cottage. Great accommodation with fantastic views. So pleased with the location. Rooms very clean and furnished well. Wonderful to sit on the balcony and enjoy the refreshments provided. Wide selection of food on offer for breakfast and all cooked to a high standard and beautifully presented. Staff gave a lovely warm welcome and any extra requests were met and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Riverside Cottages. 

What a friendly town Lynmouth is, a warm welcome in every pub, we and our Jack Russel were spoilt. Riverside Cottage  offers a comfortable relaxed stay with a genuine professional but informal hospitality that will make you want stay longer or come back to. Lovely breakfast, perfect rooms and of course a view to add to its charm.

We booked at fairly short notice, direct with the accommodation - a slightly better price than going through one of the (man) agencies.

Our room was on the first floor and a decent size with a recently refurbished ensuite bathroom.  The balcony was a good size with an excellent view of the river and the Severn Estuary, looking towards South Wales.

The breakfast was top notch.  A serve yourself system for juice, cereals, yoghurt and fresh fruit and the cooked to order main course with all the usual suspects, eggs (many ways - poached were excellent), bacon, sausage, beans, mushrooms, hash browns etc.

WiFi was a good strong signal.

Only two (slight) negatives, neither of which were attributable to Riverside Cottage.

Parking:  There is no onsite parking (there isn't room in Lynmouth).  However, there is free roadside parking just outside the accommodation - free from 16.00 till 12.00 midday the following day - so you only need to find paid parking for a four hour period - there are two pay and display carparks in the village.

Evening eating destinations:   The number of places in the village is somewhat limited and apart from a steep climb up to Lynton, it means driving to villages east or west.  Walking along the roadside not really recommended!

A room with a view in a wonderful location.

What can we say that hasn't been said by everyone else? We have visited Lynmouth on a number of occasions, have admired Riverview, but have never stayed there....until now. I received good communication from Debbie, when I asked a number of questions about the room (Room 3). We needed to be on the first floor, because we don't climb stairs very well and she made sure by telling me how many stairs and what the room was like. This is a small hotel, with stairs, so please do not expect a lift. When we arrived Dan whisked our bags up the stairs to the room with no hesitation, which was wonderful! Everything was spotlessly clean in the room and the balcony overlooking the river and sea was fantastic. Lovely big bathroom, with a bath and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast the following morning, beautifully cooked by Dan, was very well received by all the guests. Plenty to set you up for the day ahead. You can ask Debbie and Dan anything, they are very happy to help. We had a wonderful stay and wished it had been longer. We will be back!
