Everything has been fantastic, from the friendly welcome, easy parking, comfy sofas, large bedroom with super-comfy four-poster bed, delicious dinner and superb breakfast.  Absolutely nothing to criticise, would definitely recommend and will definitely return when passing this way again.

Great 18th century coaching inn right in the middle of Lynton.  Great room, staff, the dog was made really welcome and most importantly a great breakfast.   Helios.

A great find in Lynton we visited for dinner before a visit to the cinema . Nice friendly atmosphere, dog friendly and lovely food and beer at reasonable prices. We had the chilli , prawn sandwich followed by apple crumble which was all delicious. That good that we returned again when we had the chicken curry and scampi followed by a lovely desert. Well worth the walk up the hill from Lynmouth .

This is a very friendly place, really happy friendly staff never too busy to chat. I enjoyed room five very quiet looking over the car park with views of a beautiful old tree, and a good bath with plenty of hot water. The room was well decorated and the whole hotel was spotless throughout.  Rooms cleaned daily with generous restocking of coffees teas and milk. Very good cooked breakfast with plenty of choice.  Well stocked bar with 3 local beers on tap. The beer was well maintained an excellent pint every time. I really enjoyed the home cooking with lots of specials which change every day. I particularly enjoyed the liver and onions and the fish pie, the vegetarian masala was very good as well. Great centre for walking with the valley of the rocks accessed along the spectacular cliff path, and the walk down to Lynmouth the start of the three moors way and a walk down the river to Watersmeet and on to Brendon. 

On our annual visit to Lynton, we ate here twice.
Firstly Sunday lunch which as always was  gorgeous. Very filling and tasty, and amazing Yorkshire puddings .

We booked for the following evening, I had the lasagne  and my husband had the curry  and we had a side of cheesy chips to share. 

Brilliant food, reasonable prices and very friendly service.
We eat here every year , and  is a highlight of our stay  in Lynton.

Lee and the Team at the Crown could not have been more welcoming and hospitable to our Cricket Team when we stayed for a night following our Tour game with Lynton & Lynmouth CC. Food and drinks were great and reasonably priced. Rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. An excellent find and looking forward to returning next year! 

Went here for food when staying in Lynton for 2 nights. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff are lovely. You can eat in the bar or the restaurant and it's best to book as they do get very busy. The sticky toffee pudding is a must. 

Great place to stay in the middle of Lynton. Comfortable and large room, breakfast was brilliant, as was the food (and drink) in the bar.

We spent 2 wonderful nights at the Crown - meals were superb, the room was clean and comfortable plus a warm and friendly bar. Rachel went above and beyond to ensure our large family group were well looked after. Looking forward to staying there again next year.

Fantastic venue for Touring Cricket Team

We asked the sales lady in a local shop where to go for lunch and The Crown Hotel was recommended but she did tell us you may be lucky to get in as it's so popular. In we went and asked if they could squeeze in a table for two and fortunately they are very accommodating and could. Fantastic roast dinner, sirloin of beef, and mountains of veg served as a side dish. Great staff, great wine list and great premises. What more can you ask for? Would certainly use again if we are in the area but we will book in advance the next time.

On a half term break and visited almost every day. You can sit in the pub area, or pub diner area or a comfortable little lounge by reception or in the hotel restaurant or outside. Good beer choice as was the wine, cider etc. Service at any time was good and friendly. We didn't have food. Just kept popping in for a drink or two, play domino's, cards etc and rest our weary legs from the challenging walks we were doing each day.  Lovely place. I could see a snooker table in a proper games room but didn't venture in. Staff, courteous and professional.

Thank you, Lee, Rachel & Team for the most wonderful stay at your lovely Country Hotel.  My room was lovely, the Food was delicious (hence why I dined with you for the full eight nights).  Both my side and Angie's side of the family thoroughly enjoyed the large family meal you catered for on Saturday evening.  I have already booked for next March & September.  You guys really know how to look after guest and locals alike.  You are all very friendly, helpful in every way.  The games you keep in the bar kept my granddaughter entertained each day.  The Crown ticks all the boxes for me - highly recommend a visit.

Another excellent Stay

We have just spent a fantastic weekend staying at The Crown and cannot praise it enough. Not only are Rachel & Lee the hardest working and friendliest hoteliers I have ever met (everyone is made to feel at home) but Lee is also in the kitchen preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner and Rachel is constantly around - either serving food & drinks, or just for a chat! The hotel has undergone a successful makeover in the last couple of years and all the rooms are being redecorated, if they haven't already.
The food is great pub food, with daily specials thrown in and the Sunday roast is plentiful and delicious.
We were a party of 13 (20 on Sunday) and all the meals were brought out together - which is no mean feat!
Dog friendly, kid friendly and family-get-together friendly.
In a town where most other catering establishments don't seem to want to stay open past 3pm, The Crown deserves its place as the hub of Lynton, and it is wonderful to see it thriving under the expert hands of Lee, Rachel and their equally hard-working staff.
Oh, and did I mention Lee is a voluntary first responder too??? Is there no end to their talents?!

Hospitality at its best!

So impressed with The Crown at Lynton. Everything was perfect, Very friendly and efficient service, wonderful food, good ales, and lovely surrounding. As a party of 4 we turned-up 'on-spec' hoping for Sunday Lunch - and nothing was a problem. Mark, Andy, and a lady (who regretfully I now can't recall her name) all treated us brilliantly. Added to all this was that our bill was so reasonable, and we had expected would be a lot higher. I am so pleased we found The Crown Hotel - and will return every time we visit Lynton.

Fantastic, Friendly and the best in Lynton.

We stayed at The Crown for the 70th flood anniversary,  with family who had previously stayed here.  All the staff were genuinely pleased to see their guests and customers,  and were always smiling.

The food served was great, the rooms were lovely and clean, and we will definitely be staying again, and highly recommend The Crown.
