Went in here on the off chance for lunch, was told the restaurant was full but was free to sit in the pub.
Really did feel like fish and chips and wasn't disappointed. The best fish and chips I've had in a long time and the service was just outstanding. They were busy but every single member of staff (and I do believe every single member of staff served me at some point) were attentive and super friendly. 
If I'm ever in Lyme Regis again, which of course I will be, I will one hundred percent be visiting The Cobbs Arms.

Had a lovely  meal here. Hadn't  reserved 
 but found a table in bar area. Server checked with kitchen as I have food  allergy.  Ordered fish pie, which when served was hot and delicious, veg was perfect.Other half had a burger, which he also enjoyed. Staff were helpful. Lovely  atmosphere.

I recommend  a visit

First was put off with  staff our patrons arrogance attitude. 

First dish was ok. 

Second had belly of pork. This was disgusting should not been served as was rancid  when explained why I did not eat the food, no refund was oferd  payed our bill leg to eat pudding  somewhere else

We were in Lyme Regis for the day and the rain forced us to run into the first pub we saw as we left the car park. We were seated straight away with our two small Yorkshire Terriers. The atmosphere was so welcoming we knew we were in for a treat. Both the bar staff and serves were absolutely fantastic couldn't fault how friendly and attentive they were. We ordered two of the chicken shawarmas and the home made onion rings....wow i didn't expect it to be presented as beautifully as it was (didn't take a picture as I was so excited to eat it) the onion rings had the crispiest and lightest batter I've ever had and each ring was almost as big as my head. No examination.
The only disappointment I had was having to leave and not try everything on the menu. When we're back in this area we have no reservations about returning to this wonderful pub

Best food I've ever had in a pub

We only pop in maybe once or twice a year for lunch on our way to Sidmouth but you still get treated like friends, the welcome is amazing the staff are ALL fantastic both young & old! The food is fabulous & the extra attention to detail & service was much appreciated, even helped Mum when she got stuck in her coat zip!!!! Highly recommend if you are in the area . Oh & it’s dog friendly which is great. Sorry can’t remember all your names to mention you personally but everyone on Fri 22nd lunchtime was brilliant thank you, a real credit to the place.

Absolutely fantastic, great atmosphere

We had a great stay at The Cobb Arms, the staff were really welcoming and helpful. They were obviously in the midst of decorating some of the hall areas, so they were a bit untidy for good reasons. The bed was very comfortable and the bottled water was a nice touch. Just to be a bit pedantic - the secondary glazing doesn't fit in the bedroom or the bathroom so the curtains/blind wave in the wind! The room was cold on our first day so had to request heating be put on. The day we left there was no heating at all which was invigorating in November! I had scallops in the restaurant which were fantastic - and the breakfasts were delicious. The chef deserves a big shiny gold star!!!

We stayed at the Cobb Arms with our dog for a couple of nights in November. The things we really liked: the staff were very friendly and helpful; the room was clean and comfortable; the beer (Palmers) was excellent; the food in the evening was good and definitely a cut above normal pub grub; the breakfasts were generous and the vegetarian breakfast we had on our second morning was delicious; our dog was made welcome; the pub was well situated being right by the Cobb itself.The things we liked less: there's no on site parking so we parked in a large pay and display car park about 10 minutes walk away up a pretty steep hill (we didn't mind the hill but it definitely wouldn't suit everyone), we paid £9 a day for this, which would be more expensive in the summer months; breakfast is served between 9 and 10, which is too late if you are planning an early start for a day's walking.Apart from these couple of negatives we really enjoyed our stay.

Two night November stay with our dog

Stayed just one night for a mini break. Great spot by the Cobb. Above a pub but didn’t have any issues with noise at all. A few stairs to rooms but again no problem. Very comfy bed.Great breakfast served by a very attentive and friendly young man called Adam. Will happily stay again.

Pros:Nice room, lovely friendly staff and a fantastic breakfast. Bar’s quirky and different really liked it. Hallway and stairs under renovation but looking good. Convenient location right on waters edgeCons: No Wi-Fi, no car park and council car park charges aren’t cheap although free after 9pm in summer and after 6pm in winter. Very nearly got a ticket

Nice and convenient to stay above the restaurant/pub. Close to the beach and lots of walking areas. Cute little places to have a pint or grab something to eat.
