Despite the wet Welsh weather we had a really pleasant stay at Pen Y Garth in Harlech. The B&B is in a great spot to explore Portmeirion, Porthmadog and the wider Welsh coast.
Peter was a great host, everywhere was very clean and the breakfast was delicious. The view from the B&B is impressive too.
Harlech has some good cafes and restaurants but it does get busy in the summer so you need to book some of the restaurants.
Would definitely stay at Pen Y Garth again.

Had a lovely stay here in July. Peter runs a great B&B utilising home and locally produced food. The room was large and immaculate with a great comfy bed. We were treated to home made cake on arrival to fresh eggs from his chickens and home made bread and jam, marmalade at breakfast.
Peter couldn't help enough, putting our bikes  away safely to providing a can opener and offering a lift when local restaurants were full. We ended our evening watching a great sunset from the garden looking down at the town.

Cannot fault this place, perfect relaxing few days, the views are beautiful and most importantly the owners consistently went out of their way to look after us, nothing was ever to much trouble. Great little touch with the cakes outside your door every day too. Highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful house with fantastic food, accommodating staff, and very clean with Covid measures well explained and catered for. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was one of the best weve ever had. We had daily complimentary home made cakes left for us which were much appreciated and a nice touch. The views from our room were breath taking and the house is situated in a convenient location for lots of activities. We slept well as the house is situated in a quiet area but within walking distance of Harlech. Our stay was most enjoyable.

We stayed here whilst walking the Welsh coast path and were greeted by Peter who informed us of all the Covid changes they had made. We were very impressed with the measures taken! Lovely to get some home made scones in our room too! The room was very spacious and comfortable and we had a lovely view from our window of the castle. Breakfast was excellent - one of the best on our 6 night break along the path! 

This was our first visit to pen y garth, yet we had heard so much about it. I booked myself and husband in for 7 nights but about 2 weeks before our fisit i had to change it to 4 nights due to husband having hospital appoinment. Cheryl replied back straight away. 
Infact we had been upgraded to the Castle room. 
We were greeted by Peter who told us about the covid restrictions.
As we arrived in our room we noticed ho2 clean and comfortable it looked. The view was amazing. 
A tin with cakes was in the room in fact we had either cakes or flap jacks or scones. 
Breakfast was served in dining room excellent service.
Both Cheryl and Peter went above and beyond. In fact the whole visit was great. 

Pen Y Garth does not disappoint. A careful eye for detail runs throughout from the home baked cake in your room on arrived to the best breakfast we've ever had. Fresh home baked bread, home made jams and meat from the owners brothers farm makes this special. A really warm welcome and the views from the bedroom window is the icing on the cake. Will definitely be back.

We where here from the 26th of August till the 30th.
A midweek break. 
I was amazed how lovely it was here. 
The best bed and breakfast I have been too. 
The room was beautiful and cosy and beautiful views.
Looking over towards Harlech castle and snowdonia mountains and the sea. 
I just couldn't stop looking at the views. 
Just beautiful. 
I think you both work very hard to make everyone comfortable here. 
You are friendly, caring and helpful in every way. 
You always make sure the breakfast was perfect and it was. 
Homemade bread every morning. 
You always said good morning. 
Just lovely. 
The jigsaw was a hit with my husband, he had a go a few times. 
Every day you left cakes at the side of the tea facilitys. 
And they always went down a treat for all of us. 
The room we stayed in was just beautiful. 
The only thing was the bed we just thought it was a bit hard for us. 
But really we still slept. 
I just want to say thank you ever so much for making are stay a brilliant one. 
We really did enjoy are stay/ holiday. 
I didn't want to leave.

I stayed two nights at this wonderful B&B during the winter as I was running a local ultramarathon and needed a base to get ready and also to recover! I could not have wished for a better place. The room I stayed in was warm and comfortable with some lovely views but what really stood out to me was the little details. The home made welsh cakes on arrival were a lovely touch, as was the handmade soap. Also, after I had finished my race and arrived back to my room late evening, I arrived to my room to find a yummy cake waiting outside the door for me. I believe I was the only guest staying for the weekend I was there, yet there was freshly baked bread for me each morning alongside an ample and delicious cooked breakfast - possibly the best eggs I've ever had! Peter, the host, was friendly and knowledgeable about the local area, recommending places I could eat and giving directions. I will definitely return this year to beat my time in the race and I will be staying at Pen Y Garth without a doubt!

No plan. No idea where to end up in this trip. One call, there a little later to be met with the most magnificent house and hospitality. Great place to stay, the view from my bed is one angle, the other is us waving back (as requested) from the summit of Snowdon.

First stay at Pen Y Garth for a long weekend break

Spacious room!

Fantastic 

Recently stayed 2 nights in this charming B&B. Great hosts, superb breakfast and a room with a view and a half. We sat with a bottle of wine both nights watching darkness creep in and the lights across the bay come to life as dusk gave way to night. Absolutely beautiful.

Harlech seems to shut sometime after 20:30 hrs and a quiet like no other takes hold of all that is audible, which guarantees a good nights sleep. We had a most lovely and relaxing stay.

A Room With A View

Little details add up to a fantastic experience

Stayed one night in top floor (attic style sloping roof - tight for the taller ones in our family!). Warm night so warm room. Loads of stairs so may not suit everyone. Welcoming host on arrival and freshly baked  home made cakes to greet us. Not a lot of space to sit and read although there were two chairs in our daughters room. Two other couples staying at same time as us.
