We had our wedding ceremony and celebration at Woodlands. It is a beautiful setting both inside and out. The orangery is so beautiful and we were fortunate enough to having reception drinks outside. The whole day ran incredibly smoothly from start to finish. The manager Charlotte, wedding coordinator Jessica and their team made sure that everything was well organised and on time. It meant that we didn’t have to worry about anything on the day (which was amazing being a control freak!). The food was beautiful and the atmosphere all day and night was fun and relaxed. The rooms were all filled by our guests and were all very nice. It was all more than I could have wished for!

A perfect wedding

The hotel looks nice but thats the only good thing. 
The room itself terrible. The radiator in the bathroom was broken and stuck on max. The room was so hot. Unfortunately the kitchen extractor is just below the window and runs all day and night. Myself and my husband both had earplugs but still didn't get any sleep at all. The problems didn't stop there! We had ordered breakfast but when we got into the breaks room there was no staff to be seen. They had a plate of croissants uncovered near an open door, there was coffee and tea but no cups. I tried to get two glasses of juice and the one of the glasses had been sat on top of some dead flies and the next glass I picked up was broken all the way down.  We tried to find a member of staff but there were no staff to be seen.  We'd had enough by this point so went to reception to speak to the manager and get a refund for at least breakfast.  We were seen to by a blonde girl who didn't have a clue how to deal with people. She said the manager was stuck in traffic but would call us to discuss our issues. As previously reviewers had mentioned that they did not get the refund they were promised, I was very clear that I did not want to be charged. Surprise surprise, I was charged. So I called the hotel and spoke to a manager. I asked why no one had called me and why I was charged for a breakfast we did not have. Apparently the member of staff did not pass any message on to the manager to call us. I have requested a full refund and I am still waiting. They should stick to ripping people offf for weddings ! Absolutely abysmal hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE! 

Do not stay at this hotel!

In a very scenic location so I can see why it would be popular with weddings. and the hotel fits in a manor type style to reflect this. However everything else is average. I had issues with the Air Con unit leaking and was told that nothing could be done about it, and management would be informed and then I didn’t hear anything else after that (fixed my own issue) also had various other issues that housekeeping should be picking up in 🤨

Nice location, nice views but nothing else to shout about

Visited for a wedding. Staff unfriendly, especially wedding coordinator. Weddings like conveyor belt, one in one out. Food nice apart from children's meal. No outside lighting at night so couldn't see the buffet. Had to use torches on phones! Rooms all booked wrong and no access before the wedding. No hot water in our double room. 
Drinks ridiculously expensive for the area. Could be a beautiful venue with a few tweaks.

Nice hotel. Service could be better

We held our wedding ceremony and reception at Woodlands using one of their summer midweek wedding packages, it was on the 31st July 2023. We had the most amazing day and this is all due to the wonderful staff at Woodlands. Our wedding coordinator Jessica was with us from the day we looked around about a year and a half ago, right through the planning process and on our wedding day. She is a credit to the hotel and I can’t thank her enough for making the whole process so easy. We genuinely never felt stressed planning the wedding because Woodlands take care of so many details for you. On the day we had Jess as well as our toastmaster Mark. They were both brilliant at making sure the day ran smoothly, we were able to enjoy it just as much as our guests! A note on the food: everything we have eaten at Woodlands, from the canapés to 3-course meal to evening snack buffet and next day breakfast was all absolutely delicious. So many of our guests have raved about the food! And the hotel rooms are lovely, so spacious and comfortable, just an overall fantastic experience. We can’t wait to come back whenever we have an excuse to visit! I would recommend Woodlands to anyone whether it’s a wedding, hotel stay, evening meal, anything! Thank you all so much for making our wedding the best day ever ❤️

Dream wedding venue and wonderful hotel stay!

My wife booked afternoon tea on Fathers day and we arrived on time and shown promptly to a lovely table in the Dining Room together with other diners having Sunday lunch.  The afternoon tea itself was excellent, fresh finger sandwiches with a variety of filling, fruit and plain scones and the most amazing Sausage Roll which I could have had more of!!!  Having said that we had to box up most of the cakes as we were full.  Great service, reasonable pricing and excellent food.  What more could a Happy Daddy have :)  

Excellent Afternoon Tea

When I arrived the staff on reception is so polite little blonde lady ( don't know her name ) and then we went through to the bar and service in there was amazing we was served by Louise she is so polite and chatty and we will be returning to see her again

Very nice. Great location, excellent bar and great staff, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful felt very upmarket, Lovely old building with nice features, it was a wedding do and all went well plenty of staff on hand the food was served efficiently and arrived hot “complements to the kitchen the food was lovely” our room No 21 was how shall we say a little on the snug side for my husband and he struggled with his hight and build but for 1 night it was fine. 10 out of 10 for giving our Katie a wonderful day

A Wonderful Wedding Day

1/2 a lager, large chardonnay  £15.55????????
I questioned the price at the bar and was assured it was correct even though the first round of drinks was £13.35 for a pint of bitter and a large chardonnay

I had the pleasure of being at my Daughter and son in laws  wedding at the weekend ,The event was stunning ,well organised and perfect ♥️thankyou .The staff where curtiois outstanding and polite and helpfull ,the food was excellent and so was the service .The rooms where clean and so welcoming and the bed was just so comfy ,A Big thankyou to you all for making  the day so good and memorable ,THANKYOU❤️
