Beautifully maintained home. Comfortable spacious room. Lovely,  helpful hosts. Great breakfast. Highly recommend.

This is probably one of the top three B&B's we have ever stayed in. The welcome was warm, checkin was flawless and the room exceeded expectations. Hosts were very friendly, helpful and informative and nothing was too much trouble. The little extras like home made biscuits, hot cross buns, damson gin and home made preserves turned a special stay into an extra special stay. Breakfast was plentiful and perfect with a good selection of choice available. Made to feel special as hosts remebered each persons name and were attentive without being overbearing. Having fresh ground coffee and a pot of tea available is a winner. Rooms were spacious, excellently maintained and the bed, duvet and pillows was as comfortable as you would expect from a 5 Star Hotel.

We have been visiting Lake View regularly for over 10 years and wouldn't consider anywhere else.  Excellent hosts.

Outstanding hosts and very nice breakfast. No refrigerators. Close to Keswick which is a very nice town.

Stewart and Catherine were the consummate hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and there was a genuine keenness to make our stay as memorable as possible. From the friendly welcome on arrival including complimentary coffee with Catherine’s homemade cake to all the other details that made our stay delightful (complimentary homemade biscuits, fresh milk and homemade slow gin in our room, a wonderfully varied and generous tasty breakfast, only three guest rooms so it was never noisy or too busy with people). It’s a 5 minute stroll to Derwent Water lakeside but the property is also ideally situated for quick road access to the wider Lake District. We’ve stayed at many guest houses in the Lakes over the years: this was easily the best experience.

The nicest B&B we have stayed in.Incredibly clean and tastefully furnished. Very  comfortable beds with crisp cotton bedding. Everything , including the lovely garden is so well- cared for.Everything we could need or want had been thought about- home-made biscuits, complimentary gin on arrival, bath robes. Excellent breakfast and very friendly hosts who couldn’t do enough to make our stay such a pleasure. Thank you.

Very comfortable bedroom with fabulous bathroom, lovely toiletries, homemade biscuits and sloe gin. Delicious breakfast. The hosts were very welcoming, gave good advice on local walks and directions into town etc. Just one mile walk into Keswick and private parking a bonus. Will definitely stay here again.

Lakeview is a well run and friendly guesthouse run by Catherine.  The room was spotless clean, all facilities worked ok, such as shower and bath,etc. Parking was on the premises and free but there was ample street parking as well. The area is quiet peaceful and very scenic. We recommend this place to you if you are looking for a traditionally run guesthouse with a homely feel. The breakfast menu was varied, wholesome and excellent quality. We would definitely stay again.

Lake district weekend

We chose the Lake View as a base for walks in the Keswick area. Everything about our stay there was exceptional. Hosts Stuart and Catherine were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was amazing. The beds were super comfortable.  We made good use of the downstairs lounge as a place to read and consult maps. The property is a pleasant 20 minute walk from the village, and well-served by public transportation.  I highly recommend the Lake View.

The property is very well maintained .On a arrival we were shown into the lounge  which was lovely and cosy with a  log fire making it very cosy. Our room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom has a shower and separate bath tub. Plentiful of tea/coffee  and milk condiments. Morning breakfast was amazing very good selection to choose from. Overall really enjoyed our weekend in the lakes.Nothing to complain about our visit.

What a wonderful weekend at Lake View. Stuart and Catherine are wonderful hosts and Lake View is a lovely cosy B’n’B. The room was comfortable and spacious with everything you could need, plus some amazing homemade biscuits and Sloe gin. The breakfast was also a delight with locally sourced items. A delightful stay

Warmly welcomed on arrival and introduced to the house, taken into each room and finally to our room, which was exceptional as was the rest of the house.Stuart and Catherine were fantastic hosts and really made us feel at home, in their home. They took the time to talk to us and explain to us what was best to try in the area, food, travel, walks, etc.The food was exceptionally good, the quality of the produce was first rate as was the preparation and presentation. Absolutely spot on from start to finish, many thanks to you both.

We were wowed by the beautiful big room with it's amazing view of the lake and mountains and spa bathroom complete with robes. Stuart and Katherine were excellent hosts. Delicious breakfasts were made to order each morning and it was nice to meet other guests. Stuart was great at suggesting activities which did not disappoint. We were both extremely happy with our choice of a place to stay. I  would definitely recommend.
