A very warm welcome from the owner Louise at the start of a 5 night stay in our motorhome. The pitches are across 3 levels all off the central farm yard, most with electric. It was great to watch the comings and goings of a busy farm, expect the occasional flock of sheep or heard of cows to be passing your van as they are moved from one field to another. 
Had a pitch on the side of the farm access road with great views down the valley. Bus stop within sight of the farm taking you to either Keswick or Kendal and great walking on the door step. 
With basic facilities the farm offers great value for money in one of the many beautiful parts of the Lake District.

Lovely small farm site located in a beautiful location with great footpath connections on the door step. Bus stop by the farm, sort direct ride on the 555 into Keswick or a little longer going south East to Kendal. Pitches are directly off the main small farmyard, there is a simple but perfectly good shower and two toilets along with drinking water, elsan and EHU. Remembering this is a true working farm and the pitch is almost part of the yard, but safe and sound. Tractor and animal movements will be part of day-to-day environment. We found this all fascinating and lovely to be amongst. The photographs are all directly from the farm. Lovely owners and we had a great few days.

Friendly hosts on a working farm with lots of animals and stunning views! The toilet and shower facilities were clean and well maintained and the water a good temperature. We were very happy with our spot on the top field a the opportunity to charge our electrics, empty our waste and fill our water. Good value and excellent location for Thirlmere, Sticks Pass and Helvellyn. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a fantastic site 5 miles from Keswick. It sits under the Helvellyn Range so is perfect for walking the fells. Louise the owner is so friendly and helpful and the staff always give a friendly smile and chat. You need a £1 coin for the shower, it’s clean, hot and goes on for ages. It’s a working farm so expect animal noises and lots of friendly farm dogs. Louise also has a little shop selling fruit, veg eggs etc. Take what you need and keep a note to pay when you leave. The bus stop is opposite the site. The 555 takes you to Keswick, we got the Keswick/Honister zone pass, the price varies on how many days you want it for. 
No WiFi or 4g signal (we’re with o2) To the right of the site 2 mins away is a cafe which has WiFi. Louise loaned us a tv box so we were able to watch tv, although after climbing all day we were usually in bed by 9.30. 
This is our second visit and we’ve booked to go back. 5* cl site.

Stayed for 1 night on 6/5 as I was meeting friends the next morning for a hike and camp up in the hills and didn't fancy hiking after 4-5 hour drive. On arrival I was a little early but this was not a problem, the friendly host showed me the (very clean) toilet and shower facilities and let me get on with it which I find the best way. The hut is great, the bed is comfortable and has very decent bedding if you have a cold night, which I did and never once felt nippy. I just wanted to bring the new born lambs inside with me😁 
The location is also superb. 
Everyone i met on the working farm was warm, friendly and would give you their time for a chat, and as always, working dogs love a bit of petting!
A memorable stay, I will definitely try to book again, thanks.

On our arrival we were pleasantly surprised to be given the self catering annex to the house.  Own bathroom,  kitchen facilities and comfy sofa. We had a lovely welcome from Louise. The breakfast was very well cooked and presented, delicious local produce. A lovely wood burner look heater which worked well for the cool evenings. Would love to visit again if we were in area again- probably make sure we will! Have recommended it already.  Thanks Louise, we had a lovely stay.

Stayed for 2 nights. Loved the fact that it is a working farm and entertaing watching the cows and sheep.  Inside the shepherds  hut was lovely and homely and bed so comfy.  Lovely radio, sat outside and relaxing.  Well needed break. Will definitely return.

Did two nights in the shepherds hut. Well equipped with cooking facilities, fridge and all utensils and crockery. Great relaxing getaway. It’s a working farm so don’t expect total silence but thoroughly enjoyed watching the cows and sheep being herded in. Shared toilet and shower facilities were sufficient. Will go back. Would recommend the breakfast too

We stopped with our campervan for one night and were given a lovely warm welcome by this hardworking family - lovely location with breathtaking views, the shower was fabulous and the bacon and eggs out of this world  - thank you for your kindness and we will be back soon!

Farm in a beautiful location - great bus link into Keswick

I had a great three nights here in a campervan and Louise has very helpful, friendly and accommodating from when I booked to the morning I left.

The farm is brilliantly situated for walks through the Helvellyn range with a path right from the campsite so you don't have to worry about parking anywhere else! There's also a bus stop at the end of the drive, which apparently runs every 30 minutes and takes you anywhere you want to go.

The campsite offered plenty of pitches (including electric) all with brilliant views and an abundance of livestock to enjoy (cows, sheep, chickens, donkeys and dogs). The animals could get quite vocal early (6-7am) but not too much of a problem for me as I'm an early riser anyway and it is a working farm so to be expected.

As I had a campervan I was pretty self sufficient so didn't use many of the facilities, like the shower room (£1 fee to use), but the WC was clean, tidy and well stocked. There is everything campers need too - chemical disposal, waste water disposal, drinking water and bins - so very convenient.

There is little to no signal/ reception so you will struggle to use your phone for calls, texts and internet but if you venture just off the campsite (North) I found good signal there.

If...... when I find myself back in the lake district, I'll certainly be stopping here again!

Perfect for Campervanners!

Great Campervan Spot with Panoramic Views

Incredibly placed and well maintained by friendly and accommodating owners,  this place was absolutely perfect for a peaceful getaway.
It's basic camping on a working farm,  with the benefits of a comfy bed and tea making facilities. Amazing fell views, and between Derwent Water and Thirlmere, it provides convenience with outstanding beauty.

This is a beautiful place on a working farm. Sheep, goats, chickens, donkeys, cows.
And the scenery is just wow!
The shepherds hut was lovely. It was small and cosy and rustic. It was clean enough. The toilet and shower are a short walk away, shared with campers. The shower costs £1. The one toilet was clean.
Woke at 2am and it was  freezing!!! There was a heater but we didn’t find that out until morning.

It was soo lovely to stay here, the wagon faces onto the field, where the sheep were. In lambing season so it was lovely. The dolly waggon was well equipped for self catering, it lacked a couple of essentials in terms of cooking equipment. Peeler, grater, tin opener, sharp knives, strainer but most things were available. The bed was really comfortable. And an electric heater was supplied which was fab. The host was brilliant, greeted us on arrival and left to our own devices it’s how we like it. Toilet and shower On site, just a short walk. Only downside, is no where on the website does it say you need £1 to use the shower. We were unprepared for this especially in the current cashless society. But no problems, we got some change from a shop in the next village. The £1 gives you 7 minutes of heated water, and yes it was hot! Which was great! Other than that! Excellent and highly recommended
