OMG, what a find! Boys had the beef cheek, girls had a butchers sharing board, it was a frenzy of folk dipping trying a bite!  Absolutely beautiful! Cerys was fabulous, so attentive, thank you amazing lady! Thank you for a great birthday treat x

Excellent in every respect, especially the very friendly staff.  Nice room with plenty of space.  The central location is perfect, the only slight downside being difficulty in parking, but we were able to drop off outside the door, and park (free) a short walk away. The breakfast and evening meal were also very good indeed.

We visited Keswick on 14th January, and went the the Royal Oak for Sunday lunch. The staff were brilliant and the meal was excellent. We had roast beef which was great with lots of roast potatoes and carrots and Yorkshire pudding. We were offered a dessert but were full. We would highly recommend The Royal Oak for anyone who is looking for a lovely meal.

We stayed in the double feature room which was absolutely spectacular and so comfortable, great shower 2 tv,s separate lounge area and a really comfortable bed, breakfast is cooked to order and really good produce, Maria and the girls looked after us and our dog Blu was spoiled rotten. Dropped in for a Sunday Roast and it was absolutely  excellent. One of us chose the roast beef and the other had the roast pork; we shared each others and thoroughly enjoyed our meals.  Could not fault the food or the friendly service. 

The staff are what makes this place. Our Room good, not huge but had everything you need. The food was excellent. Great choice for breakfast, my only feedback would be bigger plates. The service was first class.  We will be coming again

My sister and myself visited the Royal Oak today. It was a visit that we will repeat.  The staff were so friendly and helpful, the food was absolutely delicious! I cant remember the last time we ate out and enjoyed it so much, and we eat out often.  I had lambshank with chunky chips, my sister had Cumberland sausage, they were cooked perfectly and it was obvious that the food was fresh and of top quality.  My sister complemented the staff on the food and they seemed genuinely pleased to receive the positive feedback and confirmed that the food is all locally sourced, and cooked freshly to order, well, it showed.  We will be recommending the Royal Oak to friends and family who visit Keswick regularly.  See you next time.

Thank you to The Royal Oak and your fantastic team for a wonderful stay.  Location is perfect in the centre of Keswick for restaurants, pubs and shops. Also great base for lots of walks with our dog Kaiber.
Lovely choice of breakfast and the food was very tasty and always served with a smile.  
If you prefer to eat without dogs present the restaurant does have a section that dogs are not permitted.
We also ate in the restaurant one evening and again the food was great.
We will be back soon and highly recommend if you are planning a visit to Keswick.

Stayed for two nights (nye & nyd). Family split across two rooms. Rooms were lovely (ours even had a little window seat). Nice touches like coffee bags, biscoff biscuits & bottled water. The staff couldn’t do enough. Breakfast was superb with lots of choices but I went for the eggs florentine both days as it was delicious. The whole party loved all their breakfasts and the produce was quality! Staff were lovely! I would thoroughly recommend staying here and we will certainly be back! Location perfect too! Out the door to main square; pubs, cafes, shops etc. Thank you Royal Oak!

Really nice hotel. Clean and warm.
The room we stayed in was also a decent size and very clean. The bed was quite short though so if you're tall you might have an issue but otherwise very comfortable.
Staff were lovely too. 
We didn't eat there so I can't personally comment on the food but the meals we saw being taken to tables looked really tasty and decent portions too. 
Overall I would recommend this place and would stay here again.

Excellent accommodation and food, with very friendly staff

Sunday lunch at the Royal Oak, Keswick.

Fantastic

My husband and I have just returned from an overnight trip from this hotel. I have to say first impressions were great the lady in the bar area was very welcoming when we arrived. After completing a long walk around the Derwent Water before we arrived she was happy to let us sit and relax with a drink before showing us to our room. 

The room itself was very clean and nicely decorated, the shower was amazing as are the toiletries supplied. Unfortunately for us, the bed was a little too soft for our taste so we didn't sleep great. But this is a personal preference, not the owners fault. 
We were in room 20 and quite near the stairs so we could hear a lot of noise when people were turning to their rooms and exiting in the morning. But again, I think that is the nature of the building. We were supplied with eye masks and ear plugs in the room if we needed them. He heard no noise at all from outside it was lovely and quiet throughout the night.

We decided to have our evening meal in the restaurant as it was lovely, warm and welcoming and has a good range of food and drinks on offer. There was a little mix up over our order, both the starters and mains were delivered to the table at the same time, but it was quickly rectified by the lovely dark haired lady who we met earlier on check in. Apologies, I didn't get her name. The food was lovely, I opted for the Olives and Fish Mongers plate, it was delicious and my husband had the Pork and black pudding scotch egg and the Steak Pie. 

We had breakfast included in the room rate. again we received a very warm welcome from the staff. There is a great choice of options form fruit and yogurt and cereal to full cumbrian breakfasts or even Eggs Benedict.

It is ideally located on the hight street and close to all amenities. Whilst there is no direct parking at the hotel there are pay and display just a few minutes walk away in all directions.

Would definitely consider staying again when we are next in the area or even just call in for food and a warm welcome.

Fabulous place to stay!

This was our fourth stay at the Royal Oak. The rooms are gorgeous, and the staff are always very helpful and welcoming. The food is delicious. We had a meat share platter for tea on our first night of this stay and a chicken burger and gammon for dinner the next day. All dishes were lovely. Will definitely continue to stay at eat at the Royal Oak.

Very pleasant overnight stay 

We have just left the Royal Oak, Keswick having spent a lovely weekend there. The highlight for us was the friendliness of all the staff and the warmth and consideration for all their doggy guests! Our dog Gus loved all the fuss made of him  and enjoyed his breakfast sausage- there were also dog friendly roasts available.  The hotel is central and the room comfortable- thank you everyone!
