The Cross Inn is wonderful. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the barn pub- a fun setting and excellent food. WiFi was great in bar but non existent in our room. Highly recommend it to other travelers.

This was such a wonderful respite from our cycling tour!The staff were so gracious and the barn pub is hard to beat.  Loved this place & will definitely return!

Such a wonderful place to stay at what feels like the top of the Isle of Lewis (nearly is).  Food was some of the best we had in three weeks of road tripping.  Owners were so kind and friendly, helped us to plan to see the most things possible in one day.  Highly recommend.

Small but sweet hotel, nice room with very comfy bed and shower room. Was a little confused when we arrives as no one was in the main building at the front, the whole thing looked closed. We bumped into some other residents who guided us to the pub at the back of the building where wer found the lovely and helpful staff members who checked us in. Room lovely size, but no dressing table/mirror area. TV, wardrobe and single lounge chair in there though. Went to the pub for a drink but we arrive after food as we were on the late ferry. Great selection of drinks, but more staff than customers in, even though the hotel was full. It was a Monday night though!Breakfast served buffet style in the restaurant which was accessible from the room  inside the building. Terrific selection, well cooked Scottish breakfast options and plenty of continental options. All you would wish for in a breakfast included in the room rate. Although they did stop serving at 9.15, so you need to get in early.

After driving through thick fog and not seeing much of Harris, the sun came out on our arrival at The Cross Inn. They run a delightful village pub behind the inn where we had one of the best meals of our entire three-week trip. I recommend the Cullin Skink, a Scottish seafood chowder, delicious and the best I had in Scotland and Ireland. My salmon dish was out of this world good. Hubby had a delicious chicken wrapped in prosciutto. When I asked where the chef was trained, expecting Paris or Michelin, I was told Stornoway, Harris. It was one of the most memorable meals, if not the best, of our trip.

This is a great place to stay! It was a last minute booking for us and we wanted a nice quiet, quant little place to stay, and the Cross Inn delivered all of that and more. The Barn Bar in the back was great, and the food is amazing. The staff are great and the owner is great host and makes sure all the details are up to standard!!!

The cross Inn was faultless in the way they treated my wife and myself their manager went out of his way to help us especially as there had been a bad mix up about the payment to the hotel hotel .com had said that we had  pre paid our bill in their correspondence with us but it turned out that I had not paid it when I checked my bank statements and obviously we paid our Bill but it put us in very embarrassing situation I don't think I'll be using hotel.com again for reservations for bookings quite disappointed 😞

Embarrassing

This is a great little b&b. Lovely, helpful staff, clean & comfortable rooms. It’s handy to have the restaurant and bar right there as food options so high up on the island make choices limited. There is also a handily placed laundrette just over the road for travelers who have been on the road for a while. If you don’t mind being a bit far away from the main part of the island then this place is a great choice at a good price.

Great little pub and b&b

This was a great place to stay when exploring the area around the Butt of Lewis and Europie Beach. Duncan and the team were great hosts - friendly and helpful. The room was immaculately clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our dinner and drink in the bar. Breakfast was lovely & tasty (apart from inedible veggie sausages). Parking was easy. Highly recommend.

From Check-in with Alice to checkout with Daniel, a wonderful stay at Cross Inn and the Isle of Lewis... cozy inn feels like home, Daniel's charming breakfast service (funny too!) was the perfect start to the day, Anna was great at the Old Barn Bar and our dinner at the restaurant was amazing (French onion soup that tasted like it was stewed all day, a rich and delicious dessert mousse, etc).  The inn was a tops location from which to explore Lewis and Harris top to bottom and enjoy being in a residential area yet all the charm of the rural island, and so close to stunning Butt of Lewis.  So glad we chose Cross Inn for our Isle of Lewis experience!

exceptional stay on Isle of Lewis

The Cross Inn was the perfect place to stay. From check in, to check out, all the staff were so friendly and helpful, they couldn’t do enough for you. The hotel itself was lovely, the room was a great size, spotless clean, and so comfortable. The food in the restaurant was fantastic. we had an evening meal and breakfast, And to cap off the perfect stay. the hotel has its own pub (to the rear of the hotel) for drinks after a long day. I would fully recommend this hotel, a real hidden gem.

We got a slightly frosty greeting when we arrived because I’d parked my motorbike on a flagged area and not on loose stones and to be honest if I had anywhere else to go I wouldn’t have stayed but once we got checked in the rest of the staff pulled it back. The room was really comfy and clean and the recent refurbishments and done to a really nice standard. The food and restaurant staff were excellent and the breakfast was beautiful. Thankfully in this case first impressions didn’t last.

The property was well marked and easy to find with a lot of parking. The room was beautiful and spacious. The dinning area was also lovely and breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful.  Around the back of the property is a little pub called The Old Barn Bar which was very fun to have a drink in after check in. Strongly recommend.
