Chester Backpackers

This was a great little place - so much for a very reasonable price! I wish Id posted my review earlier - just got round to doing it & now I find it's closed. It's a hard job to do running such a place but Chris & his missus were lovely & had a superb welcoming attitude. The 2 of us stayed in the only room left - a triple, & Chris insisted on a reduction in the price. Comfy beds, warm duvets, good ensuite shower/loo, although a working extractor fan would have been a good idea for longevity. Amazingly, towels & hand wash was provided at no extra charge as they are in other hostels. Comfortable lounge & kitchen area too. Excellent & humorous touches everywhere, from the artwork, fox shaped door stops in the corridors, to the gonk atop the attention bell at reception, called 'Isabel' - cos she is a bell! I was looking forward to returning at some point, now sadly not possible. I wish Chris & his family all the best & hope they find something similar to suit their talents.
