Ferry Lodge

Stayed overnight before an early morning ferry departure. Room was clean and spacious, beds comfy. Good communications from the owners although didn't see them during our stay - not a problem. Close to the sea front and 5 mins from the ferry terminal.

Very Convenient 

We arrived in here very late at night after getting to Holyhead from Dublin. It was easily arranged with the lady in charge which was good. Everything went well as there is a keysafe system for keys.

There is parking available on street around the corner.

I booked a breakfast which was tasty and good value also. The lady who was in charge the next morning was quite pleasant and helpful.

Only thing put me off was all the notices everywhere with instructions how to do everything. 

However, I understand that there is not always a member of staff on site and the management have to take into account the majority of people these days who have no common sense.



Good Value Bed For the Night

We spent three nites at the Ferry Lodge while hiking around the island. the room was fine for the money, and the breakfast was great the first day! We were asked to prepay for our three nights and three breakfasts upon arrival, which was fine. Day 1 breakfast was great. There were several guests in the lodge and the hostess was on the ball. The second morning there were only three of us. I had to open up the eating room and turn on the lights. The juice pitcher was still partly full of orange juice from the day before. It seemed like we woke up the hostess, even though its posted that bfast is 7:30 - 8:30am and we'd come down around 7:45am. No problem. Bfast was good. Our third morning we were the only ones in the lodge, and the hostess was no where to be found at bfast time. I knocked hard on her apartment door several times, and she never showed up. This was about 8am, right in the middle of the posted serving time. There was some day or more old juice and milk in a little fridge, and some very stale dry cereals in boxes. So that was our bfast. Even though we'd paid our full ten pounds for two breakfasts, two days in advance. Unfortunately it totally soured us on the Ferry Lodge. I'd look elsewhere the next time we are in town. One other thing..the internet wifi was very sketchy and didn't work most of the time from our room.

Nice hostess, poor breakfast servide

I arrived at about 1am after a late disembarkation from the Dublin ferry. I knew in advance how to access my key from the key safe outside. The room was adequate for my overnight needs. Clean, en suite with tea and coffee facilities. In the morning because I hadn't booked the room I thought I would do as instructed and knock on the reception door to enquire but also to obtain a receipt for my stay. After 15 minutes of knocking and telephoning and no response I gave up and left!! ( with regards mobile phones I don't think they are answered because I rang the previous day on numerous occasions but to no avail). The place is handy for overnighters/ back packers because it is handy for the port. I think the owner needs to be more accessible and inviting and I am sure it would help to reduce the number of negative vibes around the B&B ( e.g. Rules and notices re Trip Advisor etc)

Suited my needs

We tried to book a room online and it was unclear whether or not we even got a room. We called the landline about 8 times and never got an answer at 3 in the afternoon. We then called the mobile phone later that evening at 8 at night and got yelled at for calling so "late". She told us there would be a key outside the front door in a lock box, she gave us the code to the box. When we tried the code, we opened the box and there wasn't a key inside. No one answered the doorbell. We cannot recommend this B&B at all because she left us homeless for a night.
