A hidden gem, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, our room was spotless and very well appointed. The staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us from the time we arrived until we left.
The menu was spot on and the quality of the food was among the best we’ve ever had.

10/10 am ansawdd a phrofiad cyffredinol.  Roedd y cinio yn ardderchog ac roedd y staff yn broffesiynol a chyfeillgar.  Rwy'n dychmygu ei bod yn braf iawn eistedd ar y teras allanol sy'n edrych dros yr Afon Wysg yn ystod misoedd y Gwanwyn a'r Haf.  Argymhellir yn dda!

Luxury night stay very well appointed and comfortable in a stunning setting. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Roll top bath and pod coffee make. My wife was very excited at the use of a Dyson hair drier. Very friendly and helpful staff. A real treat for a one night stop over.

Superb two night stay, warm greeting on arrival and taken to our beautifully appointed bedroom, toasty warm, peaceful, quality touch points in the bedroom, from beverages to hairdryer type, fluffy robes and slippers and luxurious bedding. we ate dinner on both evenings delicious, and relaxed atmosphere with engaging and attentive staff. breakfast each morning was continental and very good too again served by a lovely team member. It was a super opportunity to visit the area and we would not hesitate to come again next year. Thankyou to all the staff who went over and above to make our stay so enjoyable.

We visited as a couple for a three course lunch, and we weren’t disappointed. The kohlrabi cappacio was a wonderful starter, followed by a perfectly cooked steak. The chocolate mousse was great to finish, all complimented by a nice Spanish red wine. The view of the countryside and River Usk set it all off nicely. Marius was a perfect host; very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

Excellent food, ambiance and service. The staff were all helpful; Lewys was especially good , friendly, attentive and efficient. The setting, atmosphere, decor and surroundings were all first class. The set price lunch was very good value, varied and beautifully cooked

Just had a superb lunch with my wife. We went last week and it was so good that we went again this week. The food is to die for and the service impeccable. With a table looking over the river Usk it was perfect.
It was very good value for the quality of the experience. I shall go again, soon !!!

We took my 90 year old mother and 92 year old father, a party of 9 to celebrate Mum's birthday for Sunday lunch today. The venue is lovely, overlooking a drovers bridge over the river Usk.  Greeted by the Manager we were introduced to Gabriel Bell, who looked after us for the rest of our experience. It is a long time since I have experienced such service - to call Gabriel a waiter does not do him justice, he is clearly an experienced professional from whom many could learn a lot. The meal was beautifully prepared and presented, many thanks to the Chef (Mum was pleased to hear that he was Welsh and praised his gravy - a thing never heard from Mum before!) Thank you so much, we will definitely be back.

This small get away has all the style of a Michelin star restaurant. The welcome from all staff memebrs started this amzing experience. Greeted by Gaberiel, a interested bar man who noticed I requested soy milk to go with my coffee, and causally asked if I had any food allergies as he had brought over unordered cookies. I have no allergy but this started a beautiful conversation. All other staff memebrs were equally delightful and this made you feel looked after throughout our stay. I watched how all of the staff worked soo professionally together, this also created a relaxed atmosphere, they made it look easy!
The food was up easily 5 star, quality of the cuts of meat, vegetables and overall taste was just perfect. All tables were spaced with perfect distances between others eating, this created an intimacy not often felt in modern restaurants these days.
I'm looking forward to returning in the spring / and summer. Thank you everyone you have created a special retreat for people to have that special 'get away' feel - Excellent

We had a 3 course dinner here as part of my father in laws 60th birthday and I have to say, the food was incredible. 

Everyone enjoyed their first 2 courses and those of us with enough space left found a couple of utterly delightful desserts. Would recommend the yoghurt moose with sorbet OR the strawberry trifle. Both fab.

Staff very knowledgable of the menu (and bar selection!) 

Highly recommended. 

Would go again!

Lovely hotel, great staff. Alcohol prices were very expensive to say the least. Food was good but could have been so much better with a few tweets here and there. Overall it was a good weekend. If you come to Wales bring a rain Mac. USK village is only a few miles away and the bags head is a good boozer with good food

Quality stay and food sublime.

Delicious 3 course lunch!

We visited and stayed at this establishment for the first time. It's somewhat in the middle of nowhere! I would not describe its location as idyllic! It does overlook the river but there are no gardens leading down to the river but you do have the view  of the river from some of the windows. There is a very good view of the river from the outside seating area (which was closed when we visited). The accomodation was fine. Outside the main building but only a short distance. Very clean, comfortable and warm with good toiletries. The food is very good and so I would not agree with the other reviews suggesting otherwise. The biggest issue is service. I felt so sorry for the staff who were doing their best, and working extremely hard but there was simply not enough of them. On a busy Saturday night in the restaurant there were only five members of staff covering the bar, the restaurant (upstairs and downstairs) and reception. I would appeal to the management at Celtic Manor to address this issue quickly,  as the present model is simply not sustainable. You will lose the few staff you have got if you continue to place this level of pressure on them. This has the potential to be very special, but only if it is properly resourced and supported by management.
