Food took ages and waitress unfriendly.
Would not recommend.
Uncooked food and clearly straight out of the microwave no intention of nice presentation. 
Person vaping in the pub was not stopped.

Lovely little pub. Long wait for lunch (45 mins after ordering) I had the Devon blue burger which was homemade and succulent. Another issue was other people having to chase the veg and gravy for their roast. It seems that the locals at the bar area had the attention of the staff that little bit more than the visitors eating 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ I WOULD return and do recommend

Nice food but a bit of a wait

We took a random road tripto cardiff not thinking about how busy it would be as rugby was on. No hotels were available so I googled B&B's near by and The prince of wales in prince town came up so we rang to book a room luckily they had 1 room left, a small family run pub, it was the best experience ever. They made us feel really welcome, it was amazing inside being greeted by a central log fire as it was freezing outside, the couple greeted us, they were amazing with there new baby who was beautiful. The room was so homely and cosy. We have said we would be back in a couple of months, it was the best random experience ever. I would recommend it to anyone. Thankyou for the perfect cosy stay. Xx

Random experience. Wales.

Good selection of beer, a nice atmosphere and good pub grub: the pies are particularly good. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere with good service. A pleasant, warm place to take shelter after a bracing walk on the moor.

Jail ale and much moor(ouch!)

We popped in for a meal on a Sunday lunch time. The warmth of the room and the female staff made us feel very welcome.  Nothing was too much trouble as one of our guests could only eat chicken.  So although they were busy with a carvery in the main dining room they served us in the bar/lounge. Everything was clean and friendly. The food which took no time at all in coming was really good. I personally was completely full as I had gone for the gammon meal. All my fellow eaters remarked on how lovely the food was.  We didn't feel rushed or overcrowded, and both the female staff inquired how the food was.  We left completely happy knowing it's a place which we can recommend to all. 

Sunday Lunch Drop in.

I have heard many recommendations for this pub over the past few years but this is the first time I’ve been, it will not be the last!
We were greeted by a really welcoming member of staff who made sure she found us a great table. We spoke to numerous members of staff and they were all warm, friendly and helpful. 
I had the Sunday roast which was incredible value for money, a vast amount of delicious beef brisket, Yorkshire pudding, lots of roast potatoes,  five different sorts of vegetables and a jug of gravy. I can’t remember the price but I think it was just under £13. The pub is known for its huge burgers but I think it should be known for it’s Sunday roast as well. The chips that came with my children’s huge burgers were the crispiest golden ones I’ve ever seen.
I look forward to returning soon!

Great staff and fabulous food.

Host was late for check in , was also quite unwelcoming and we were given no information in regard to breakfast etc.  Room was dusty with rubbish in the bins,the quilt had a stain on it, the toilet was uncleaned, the decor is dated, the bed was a squeaky old hospital bed that you were  scared to move in for fear of it breaking , no milk or teabags to even make a brew all weekend. The whole outside area is untidy with tools and broken objects left lying around. The breakfast was poor and a tiny portion with cold toast and overcooked greasy bacon...all 1 rasher of it!...didn't even bother going for it on the second morning. The actual pub/dining area had washing everywhere and more random belongings just lying about all over the place.
Was highly overpriced for what we actually experienced.

Shame about the pub as the views are great.
On arrival somebody was doing their ironing in the bar.
The entire place is cluttered and needs a good clean.

Asked for the food menu, requested soup and unsure if there was any, stunned silence.
Ordered a prawn cocktail and fish and chips both dire!
Not a good experience!

Awful

Spent 3 nights here while going to Steelhouse Festival. Arrived very late the first night, about 12.20 am and I'd already rung ahead to warn Keri as I didn't want her waiting up for us but it was no problem, the room door was open and we just let ourselves in. Easy.
Ok it's not the Hilton but we were made to feel so welcome, room and bathroom was clean, food was good and nothing was too much trouble. The last evening we got back while the bar was still open, there were a few locals in who all spoke to us and said goodbye when they left.
Lots of mining memorabilia all around the bar which was so interesting.
Lovely lovely landlady. Quite a quirky place, one which we hope to return to again one day.

Fantastic, friendly, relaxing few days

Do not waste your money on this B&B
This was the worst place I have ever stayed.
On arrival we were met with an empty pub. The landlady clearly had the hump with the landlord and totally dismissed us. The landlord himself was a very pleasant elderly gentleman but couldn’t find the booking then couldn’t find the key even though hours before our arrival had taken our money.
Eventually he showed us round to the back of the pub to a room I can only describe as his mothers. You notice the decor first…….then the smell. Oh my god that smell. It comes in waves like it’s being pumped into the room. A thousand smokers and dirty ashtrays. We booked for 3 nights. We left after 1. The worst night sleep I’ve ever had on a mattress that had so many toppers on it clearly to disguise how bad it was. The bathroom, a tiny cupboard with floor  to ceiling black tiles. Couldn’t see a thing even with the light on.
I cant give a review on the food. The room was so bad I couldn’t face eating anything there.
A pub that’s clearly struggling and has created rooms from old furniture to bring in revenue. 
Describe in one word…..revolting.
