Lovely apartment. Fantastic views. Location was great. Brilliant.

Excellent accommodation. Very comfortable and high standard of cleanliness.

Clean, comfortable and spacious. Lots of light in the room, access to the back yard from the large bathroom and a nice view of the fells from our window. Easy self check in. There's no breakfast on site but there's a tasty breakfast at Freda and Ray's cafe just a couple of minutes walk into Grasmere. Great location for lots of walks around Grasmere and I recommend the restaurant in walking distance called the Jumble Room.

Great property—perfect location and all needed amenities for a successful tour of the Lake District.

Right on the edge of Grasmere village, a maximum 10 minute walk. Suite was very comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. Two pubs within walking distance, the best being the Travellers Rest, excellent food.One thing to note, no breakfast is included with this accommodation but you do get a discount at a good local 'cafe'.

The suite was very roomy with a modern bathroom and plenty of seating place, including the outside patio.  Michael was a very pleasant host who couldn't do enough to make my stay a comfortable one. One notable highlight was the digital radio!

Lovely stay at Chestnut Villa. Room was well furnished. Bed was very comfy. Had a little sitting room. Bathroom was fab with great fixture and fittings. Rain shower was amazing. Great views both out of the back and front windows.

Our room was amazing - well apportioned, with a luxurious bathroom and very comfortable bed.  My only criticism is that we paid extra for a king bed and ended up in a double. The room was so fantastic though that we still felt we got more than our moneys worth. This is a great value in an amazing area. If I lived in the UK I'd return here often.

Right little treat of a property. About a 12 min walk to the town (adorable town). We had a suite room which had a lounge and small outdoor seating area which was super cute. The bathroom is of a very high quality, clean and Morden. The lounge area is the perfect size. It’s all quite cosy and spacious at the same time. The bed and sofa are both top levels of comfort, really high quality and well thought out. There’s a cute lil fridge which fitted a bottle of champagne and snacks #girlsnight. Love that there was card games included in the room, it sets a sweet atmosphere up. The views from the back door are stunning, you can see every part of nature right there. Mike was a delight; helpful, kind, wonderful mannerisms even at late hours of the night and early hours of the morning. The breakfast cafe is gorgeous; high quality, stylish and perfect for people watching. We would definitely come again, no doubt.

Mike went above and beyond to make our visit special! We stayed in a beautiful room with views out over the hills and enjoyed delicious breakfasts at Freda+Ray cafe. There are great walks nearby (our favourite being up past the waterfall to get to Easedale Tarn). The room was very clean and had great facilities. The Chesnut Villa is a 2 minute walk from a bus stop which made our trip very easy without a car.

Beautiful place to stay!

In midst of the heatwave our room was surprisingly cool - nice thick stone walls helped plus window facing view of hills opposite site of sunset.  Bed very comfortable and shower really good.  Although room was on the main through road Windermere to Keswick it was cool had adequate blind coverage from light and traffic reduced at night. Owners friendly and offered advice on where to get evening meal.  Grasmere easily walkable from property.  Breakfast very well planned with a slip to fill in stipulating time frame and cooked breakfast/cereal fruit options to be filled in.Overall our one night stay was comfortable and well placed for an evening walk or to village for meal options or just a coffee.Thank you

A good place to stop over

This was meant to be our wedding weekend which has been postponed for a year. We found Chestnut Villa by chance and could not have been happier with our stay. Mike was so friendly and accommodating and our room was exceptional. We were on the top floor in Helm Crag. Stunning views out of the windows, a walk-in closet, so much space in the bedroom with 2 comfy chairs to relax in, a stunning bathroom with a gorgeous roll-top bath and a fantastic power shower. You can see the effort Mike has put into the recent renovation of the B&B and the feel he has created. The perfect couples getaway!

Do not miss out on this little gem of a B&B

The hotel is a little small, but the rooms are huge, clean and decorated very nicely; the view from the Easedale room is spectacular, even when the weather is bad. It’s situated about five minutes walk from the centre of Grasmere, so close enough to walk but far enough away to be quiet. Breakfast was great, with a good selection. Staff are very attentive and friendly. There’s no dinner option, but there is enough in Grasmere, including a delivery service (also delicious) so you won’t go hungry. A fridge in the room would be a handy improvement, though. The standalone bath is massive, and very welcome after a long journey on foot or by car.

Lovely place

Excellent hotel, particularly given price and availability (1 week's notice) for one night in the Lakes in the summer. Clean, generally well-designed room with excellent bathroom. Fantastic breakfast, well-adapted for covid-19: in fact the whole experience of the hotel was as easy as could be imagined during the pandemic. Easy to find on main road, which didn't affect our sleep. Pleasent and simple walk into the village (~10 minutes). Lower-priced room would be small for a longer stay and would appreciate more surface spaces in the there! But for a short stay this is excellent and given the price paid, excellent value.

Excellent hotel

Very well presented room. Delicious breakfast! A very friendly welcome from the staff. Conveniently located for Grasmere village and a walk up to Stone Arthur & Great Rigg. Close to the A591 which made it very easy to find but a little bit noisy, which wasn't a problem for us but may annoy some. All in all, a very pleasant stay.
