White Park Bay Youth Hostel

I recently stayed in White park bay Youth hostel with a school group of 36 children and 4 teaching staff.The Hostel was excellent for our stay . Everyone was made very welcome by the staff of the hostel and the evening meal and breakfast were both very good.The room which i stayed in was warm and had a lovely view looking down onto the beach.It had an ensuite bathroom with a good hot shower .The parking at the hostel is good with another car park a few yards away which we were able to park a coach.Pack lunches were provided in the mornings. All in all everyone had a great time and i would recommend  this as a good place to stay .The staff were friendly and helpful and made this an enjoyable stay.

staff amazing friendly always will to help if needing any thing brilliant family orientated would recommend to anyone as views are also fantastic and so much for kids to do with the beach right by there back door and portrush a stones throw away will defiantly be back this year

Whitepark bay youth hostel has the most terrific view I've ever seen. Large and comfortable common spaces with the fireplace always on creating a great atmosphere. Rooms are very clean and the staff veru nice! Congratulations for this beautifull hostel, staff!

i did two days trekking along the coast that this hostel's location was super with reasonable price. That was very good. But Short of power socket at room. I stay at 6beds dorm but only one socket. I think they encourage people charging phone at living room

The Hostel is easy to get to and the last turn is signposted from the road.
Pass the first car park as the hostel has a little one beside the building.
The hostel looks right onto the gorgeous beach and is on the gravel path down to the beach, about a 5 min walk. It is a bit steep on the way back up though

You enter the hostel into a big lobby with reception desk, there is an area close to the door to remove your muddy or sandy shoes. Some people stored them there instead of taking them to their room, so you could do that if you felt comfortable.
Just on from reception is the big communal eating area with tables and chairs and to the right of it is the lounge area with lovely large corner windows that overlook the beach. There is also a fire place and radiators to cosy up to if you’re feeling cold
The communal areas are modern, well decorated and comfortable.

The bedrooms are off 2 corridors from the eating area with either 4 bed dorms or double rooms. Each room / dorm has its own bathroom with shower. 
I was in a double room which although slept 2 people, it was 2 single beds. The room wasn’t big, but had everything you needed, beside table, cupboards / wardrobe for storage, kettle (no cups though). There was a small flatscreen TV in the room but it didn’t seem to have a source and so didn’t work. 
The mattress on the bed were OK, a bit thin as in you could feel the springs coming through a little but I was only there for 1 night and so it didn’t bother me, it would have if I was staying longer. The pillow provided was also very flat. You are provided with a duvet and sheets.

The bathroom was quite large with a small shower. All the taps including the shower have the system where you have to keep pressing the tap to get the flow constant which is a little annoying but you get used to. There are no towels provided so bring your own, I didn’t mind this, but the only thing I did mind was that there was no mat of any description to stop you from slipping when coming out of the shower. It could be easy to forget this and step onto wet tiles. It wouldn’t have to be a mat that needs washed, it could a wooden or rubber mat.
Also the water system is quite noisy and you can hear the taps and toilets flushing loudly in the rooms beside you.

Checkout from the bedrooms is at 10am and they are very strict on this. Checkout from the hostel is 11am as the hostel closes until about 5pm for cleaning

The hostel is in a beautiful location and overall is very cosy and comfortable so I would definitely recommend it

Terrific view

The bed was alright however the window was broken and it was freezing all night it didn't shut properly there was a massive gap at the side no option with the food and there was a massive hair in my food which wasn't mine it was a complete different colour there was dried sick on one of the bedrooms floors there was mold under the bottom bunk on the slats it's alright for a short stay

Very rude staff. Most unhelpful. What a shame as the setting is absolutely stunning set high above beautiful Whitepark Bay.The quick glimpse we had of the facilities suggested that the hostel was clean and tidy. But Oh  dear those staff!
