Thoroughly recommend you stay her. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Restaurant and food served was first class. Staff were helpful and friendly. Good value for money.

Perfect solo weekend away at The Griffin where the GM Ed was a warm and welcoming host.
Food great, view amazing and in the heart of the gorgeous Sussex countryside.
Room was clean and comfortable. Shower pressure excellent!
Ed makes the best Bloody Mary too.

Breath taking views from the gardens when you first arrive, then you walk inside and it’s like going back in time. Beautiful old pub just what you’re looking for when you have a weekend out of London. Ed the GM when above and beyond looking after us.

Such a gorgeous pub with period features 
The hotel part was very tastefully fitted out with attention to detail and the comfiest bed 
The restaurant served delicious meals and breakfast was lovely too
The well stocked bar was most welcome and the staff could not do enough for you

Exceeded expectations. Quaint, comfortable & very relaxing. Beautiful garden & location. Warm & helpful staff. Great food. Excellent value for the money. Would definitely return. My only note might be that the room refreshments were a little scarce - no biscuits & only x2 teabags in the basket. Easily remedied on asking a member of staff as we were staying x2 nights.

Great walks from the door, only 2 miles from Sheffield Park and Bluebell Railway. We will definitely be back soon 😊

We only had lunch and it was amazing . We were greeted with courtesy and warmth and the food was excellent . The service was quietly efficient and unobtrusive. Will definitely be going again.  The ladies toilets are a bit cramped! 

Thoroughly enjoyable stay and dinner at The Griffin Inn. 
Very confortable bedroom, delicious dinner in the pub (area - our choice, but restaurant looked very pleasant too). Pub quiet, no taped music, so much nicer! 
Staff extremely helpful and friendly. 

Always excellent as it was on the evening of the 17th Jan 23.Great menu and quality.Very nice and helpful young staff who couldn't do enough.
I understand that the Griffin was recently taken over.New management please note? Please please don't change things except maybe the menu.The chef was obviously excellent as the food provided was perfect.
Will be  back again soon.

Great find really gorgeous homely and friendly. I had fish n chips which was spot on and my partner had a burger to die for  slightly under just the way we like it with what was clearly a homemade bun and hand cut chips. Manager was super helpful and chatted to us for a while about the history of the building and some tips on local shopping. He couldn’t have been more attentive and we had such a nice evening

A beautiful cosy country pub with roaring fires, plenty of locals in a fantastic setting with views to die for and a wonderfully quaint village. The sizeable bedroom perfectly appointed, with a very comfortable bed and quality Chadder & Co. Roll top bath tub and Wc. I was a little disappointed to not have a shower and a tiny television with a CD player dangerously perched on top of the wardrobe, which fell down when opening the door hitting my girlfriend on the head…but no harm done! We would definitely return here, to see the gardens in the summer as they are well kept and the outside pizza oven look like fun. There was an unfortunate mix up with our dinner order and we waited over an hour, but we weren’t charged for our main course as a result and as we loved the pub so much we hadn’t missed its arrival….again no harm done, breakfast was first class although again it took a while to arrive, the staff were very friendly and helpful….might want to check the dates on the breakfast yogurts before they go out hence the not perfect score…but would recommend to friends for sure.

Friendly Pub, Lovely Rooms

Booking in was easy and the staff were very helpful and friendly,we were allocated the kenward room but we had paid for a delux room with four poster etc but were told there was no deluxe room available. We bought this up at check out and it appears that because we had booked with booking.com priority is given to people who book direct, that said the duty manager altered our bill accordingly. The only other issue is with the plumbing in that room it just doesn’t work properly..the 3 night stay with the Griffen was just fine the view from the garden is great.

Good parking either near the pub, pub carpark and carpark opposite pub. The Griffin is  a lovely old pub with a great interior. The staff are really friendly, efficient and helpful The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, a great place to meet up with family and friends and to have meetings in. Menu could be a bit limited for some people but good chef. Nice choice of wines, beers etc.

Have been hear a number of time and has always been very good.
Today I was part of a group of severn, the starters were very good as were three suites, three o f had the fish and ships which were not up to standard,it was served look warm and the batter was very crispy. Now where as good as the last time we came which was Newhaven cod and excellent.
I do hope that it is a lot better last time as I would love to come back as the place is lovely and the staff excellent.

Food was great, service a little slow in their defence it was very busy.
The place was rammed which was a good sign, little wait to order but we werent that bothered as it was a bank holiday.
Opted for prawns to start and the hot salmon starter, the bread didnt come with the Salmon and we chased it up, bit of a pain as the starters were getting cold.

Mains when with the lamb shank which was tender and tasty, not enough sauce.
The other main was the ribeye, more medium than medium rare but no asked if it was OK.
Tad pricy with a bottle of red @ £120 but a nice enough lunch.
