Martyn and Susie welcome you wholeheartedly in their lovely authentic English cottage. Everything is done with such detail and cleanliness. And in the morning, when you open the curtains, you see the sheep grazing on the adjacent meadow. It doesn’t get calmer, greener and more soothing than this. Also, both Martyn and Susie know the whole region very well and will help you with any questions and tips. We had a splendid time.

Lovely hosts who made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was delicious and served in their lovely garden room. The location of Wooden Cabbage is delightful with beautiful gardens and views. Martyn and Susie were very helpful with local knowledge and recommendations of places to eat and visit during our stay.


A warm welcome, best breakfast, perfect hosts, remote and relaxing surounding, interesting suggestions for day trips as well as for restaurants,

We stayed with Susie and Martin for a long weekend, on recommendation from a friend. We weren’t disappointed as we had a peaceful and comfortable short holiday. We stayed in the Oak Suite which had lots of room and comfortable furniture. We slept really well in our kingsize bed with luxury bedding and soft pillows. The added touch of flowers from garden gave a lovely aroma in the room. 
Breakfast was exceptional with Susie’s home made jams and preserves to go with her muesli and Greek yoghurt followed by full cooked breakfast and lots of toast. 
We loved the gardens and plants in their beautiful house of which they are so obviously proud. I am sure we will return.

On our arrival and throughout our stay, we were made extremely welcome by our hosts Susie & Martyn. The accommodation itself was very comfortable and the breakfasts were excellent. The location however is slightly off the beaten track and transport therefore is essential. 

With much experience within the hospitality industry, Martin and Susie know how to welcome their guests. The rooms are lovely - well furnished with lovely bed linen and towels changed daily. Breakfast is a treat -use is made of local produce and fruit grown in the garden. All in all, this is a lovely place to stay and the setting is idyllic.

Two wonderful nights at this amazing B&B. From the minute you enter the Drive to the house the views are fantastic.  The hosts Susie and Martyn really look after you; tea and shortbread on arrival in the stunning garden.  Rooms immaculate and so peaceful and breakfasts simply the best.  Local village pubs serve excellent evening meals.

We wanted to get out and enjoy the beautiful English countryside and Wooden Cabbage was the right choice. set on a farm with a beautiful view. Great hosts in Martyn & Susie with good advice as to what to do each day - and such super breakfasts. Many thanks
