Great greeting from Tom & Lynn. What can we say.. Soft cozy bed . Lorry driver fry up. Quiet area apart from the 05.30 . Messersmidt seagulls. Top marks . Well done. Thku. We be back.. Interesting rooms nice and clean . Private bathroom .  Two fry ups next time. 

This B and B is run by a warm and friendly couple, We had a very good night's sleep and a lovely cooked breakfast was served with a smile.  The house is situated within easy reach of town, the port  and also the beautiful Dover Castle We will be back!

The location of the guesthouse was very easy to find, and it was ideal distance between the station and the castle, which was the sole purpose of my trip. The couple who manage the property were extra welcoming, and when they learnt I'm a pescatarian they've gone extra lengths to adapt my breakfast to my diet. The room I was given serendipitously matched my interests, i.e. had tons of books on my topics of interest, which made the stay extra special. I felt like I was literally home away from home. Also, owners kindly offered to keep my luggage for a few hours past my checkout time, if I fancied more sightseeing before my train. All in all, it was a very very enjoyable stay.

Booking in after 6pm is unusual but not an insurmountable problem. We parked right outside on the quiet road, there was no room on the premises,and went into Dover before booking in. Its about 5 minutes steady walk to the town centre.
We went back about 5.15pm and Thomas, the friendly personable owner, was there and welcomed us in. He carried my wife's bags to the top floor after checking we were ok with the stairs and didn't want a room on the first floor. He'd just come back from the local market having purchased the fresh produce for breakfast. We had 99% decided where to go for the evening meal and his recommendation matched that. La Scala if you like Italian.
Returned and slept very well in a comfy bed, in a clean quiet room. The Wi-Fi works well, better than the tv in fact.. The bathroom,which is yours only, was just outside the bedroom. As there is only one other bedroom on the floor your state of dress, or undress, shouldn't pose a problem, The bedroom walls were full of theatrical show framed programmes and there are a lot of "things" all over the house. However sometimes this beats the clinical hotel rooms and adds character, and for the price there is nothing to complain about.

Breakfast the usual cereals, juice, jams for toast. The full English breakfast was really filling, good quality and enjoyable. 

A one night stay as we were destined for another location in the area but we were not disappointed. Thank you Thomas.

Thomas is the perfect host, cooks a good english breakfast, his restaurant suggestions were spot on. Rooms provide space and a comfy bed. Bathroom is tiny, shower system quirky, but i think that is my Australian expectation. It compares favourably to other English BnBs. Breakfast/ sitting room is highlight, bright and airy, even on the dullest autumn day. Main criticism is driveway entry is a tight turn and very narrow between gates, but there is off street parking and that is not always an option. Would definitely recommend.

Warm and Welcoming

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night in June 2019.  The house is quite old and tired in many respects and a little cluttered.   The hosts, Thomas & Linda were very welcoming and Thomas helpful in carrying our luggage up a couple of flights of stairs to our upstairs room.  The room itself was huge with old decor but it was comfortable.  Our private bathroom was in an adjoining room which wasnt a problem to us. Linda offered a cooked breakfast which was adequate and nice.    There is very limited on-site parking, otherwise you need to park on the street.  We enjoyed our stay here for the 1 night, but generally the place needs a good tidy up both inside and also around the yard.

Old style house cluttered but comfortable

Having booked an overnight stay here we decided to leave within 10 minutes. 
When we were shown to our room we went past the kitchen, the door had been left open, it was plain to see that it was untidy and cluttered with remnants of food lying around. When we got to our room and  the first thing our host did was go into the bathroom and flush the toilet! The bed looked like it was ready to collapse and the linen hadn't been laundered. The last straw was when a massive spider ran across the room and hid under the bed, my husband looked under the bed to find it and was horrified to see 3 old suitcases covered in dust, surrounded by dead fly's, human hair and general filth, we left immediately and lost our money but I would have slept in the car rather than staying in this filthy place. We did manage to find a room at the Leaf hotel for the night which was really good!

Do not stay here!

What a mess everywhere, never seen !
Even, under the bed was a plastic box with mess
Because it was a late booking, my wife's credit card was immediately credited
At the departure  (when my wife was at the oputside) the owner made me pay again
At home we discoverd the double payment. We have already contacted the owner several times to rectify this, but he refuses
He no longer answers emails either

Never again

After staying at some of England's best BnBs on the Coast to Coast walk we weren't prepared for a place where standards have slipped. The below standard reviews written by other guests need to be believed and you need to book else where. May I suggest to the hosts that a refurbishment and over all clean up is needed followed by sourcing high standard local products for breakfast. Then Salisbury House would be entitled to charge what they do for accommodation. 

Needs a Good Clean

We were booked to stay here for 3 nights from the 5th october 2018 we were shown 2 rooms we picked one with the ensuite .Within 5 minutes we decided not to stay here due to the state of the room  .The shower looked like it had not been cleaned in a while then we turned the bed down and found hairs in the bed . This made us find somewhere else to stay .No on site parking as there are a number of old cars takeing up all the spots . The owners seem nice enough but thats not good enough these days .We lost our money for the 3 nights because we forgot to take photos as proof .We ended up at the best western in Dover at a better price .So dont stay here unless its a last resort.
