Acacia Boutique Hotel!!
Embarassing, .... to say the least ... to call this a 'BOUTIQUE HOTEL' is most definately an embarassment.

Friends over from the UK, arriving late Wednesday night, and had booked into the Acacia Suite, have you seen the price !!!.

On arrival, asked for a parking disc to place in the car, (as required on the prom) ..... did'nt have one  !!!.

Thursday morning, we recieved a surprising phone call, asking for bath towels !!!!, they had gone to take a shower and found,  a filthy shower tray,with wet and dirty towels (see photo's) they went to reception to complain and no one to be found !!!.

Start of a bad day, it only got worse, down to breakfast and greeted by a cold breakfast, they did point this out to the waitress, and were asked they wanted it warming up or if they wanted a fresh breakfast , which would be 45 minutes. Both offers declined and arrived at our house for freshly cooked bacon butties and coffee.
To say their short stay was rescuded, by booking into the Regency Hotel, (thank you)  is an understatement.

Do the tourist board auctually inspect hotels, because a 3 star rating,and charging £165 a night, you would expect facilities and service to be above standard.

This is not a Hotel it's a Thai restaurant with rooms run as a sideline. Room 2 is where we stayed,noisy from 6-45 till 1045 I believe from an extractor fan placed on a outside wall and the smell of cooking  was awful. Windows that don't open drawer fronts that fell off in my hand steep flights of stairs to negotiate dirty carpets dingy and dark decor We would not eat in the restaurant because when you looked out the back window which overlook the restaurant it was filthy Milk and tea some days you got some other days not.Paid for six days but left after four days. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE

Noisy and Smelly

Absolute bargain. People have left such negative reviews on such petty reasons. If you stay in a hotel with a Thai restaurant of course it may smell of cooking, however it was minimal and not offensive. Up 3 flights of stairs, no lift but not a problem. Big clean room, enormous extremely comfy bed, big TV, fantastic view over bay, big windows that fully open, a few traces of damp on one wall but very minor but hey its on the coast in the Irish sea. Staff were lovely and very welcoming, no worries about turning up really early, great breakfast included in the price. Would highly recommend (we had room 9),be realistic its a busy and well used hotel, don't compare it to that ridiculous show on TV where negative marks are left for a grain of sand in the bath. Go go go

Isle of man 1st timers

A mate and I booked this 'hotel' to attend the Manx Grand Prix. It was billed as a 'Boutique' hotel and, as accommodation is scarce when the racing is on, this persuaded us to accept the inflated rate of £1000 for the room for 8 days. We were asked to pay the full amount even though it was 10 months away!
The first problem was finding it! Acacia hotel is not found by Google or Apple maps. Eventually found it by routing to Manila restaurant, theres not even a Acacia hotel sign to be seen anywhere!
Our arrival was accompanied by a frustrated guest venting his anger and frustration at the manager, and the words 'wouldn't keep my dog there' caused some raised eyebrows! We were assigned Room 12, 64 steps later we opened the door. What a disappointment.
1. Damp smell as soon as we opened the door
2. Bed was made up as a double, when we had specified twin beds.
3. The shower was either cold or hot - had to resort to having baths
4. Hair dryer didn't get hot - lukewarm at best
5. Sheets were smelly (like they hadn't been dried properly and were mouldy)
6. It was cold at night and there were no extra blankets provided.
7. No fridge
8. No shelves or chest of drawers for clothing. An open hanging space only.
9. Damp towel left in bathroom (presumably from previous occupant) 
10. No towel rail to dry towels and they were not changed daily without prompting.
11. Despite having listed all the items above and giving this to a member of staff, the only remedial action taken was the provision of a portable halogen heater, and only 1 out of 4 elements on that worked.
12. Breakfast was supposed to be available from 7am each day - it never was ever fully ready
13. Stairwell carpet was dirty

'4 star, boutique hotel' - you must be joking! Shoddy vastly overpriced B&B at best. 

I would never stay there again.

Dreadful

The only good thing about the hotel was that the staff were friendly and that there was a nice view from the room. Unfortunately just like the other reviews the place was overrun by the smell from the Thai restaurant, the room was dirty and run down and the bathroom sink didn't drain. The windows didn't open or close properly as the mechanisms were so old and jammed. Not a boutique hotel but a cheap and nasty B&B at best. The owners seem to be running a nice Thai restaurant with some rooms as a side business that get little attention. Lastly the English breakfast had a real taste of Thai about it as they obviously use the same pans for cooking everything :-(

staff friendly room clean and serviced every dayonly problem kitchen extract exhaust finished by the window which although was locked shut did not sealIt came on at 6am and room smelt of breakfast and later on until around midnight it smelt of malaysian food for that reason I would not stay there again

Acacia

This place should really not refer to itself as either a hotel or boutique.  It's a few rooms above a restaurant, that's it.  Our room was small but that in itself wasn't a problem for one night, and especially given the price.  The bathroom though was tiny and it was almost impossible to get to the sink, and there was mould on the ceiling.  The breakfast was great though, really good although there was no coffee available at the time which I find quite incredible.  All-in-all, a step-up from your typical Douglas B&B but certainly not hotel class.

Enjoyable stay, a few minor niggles but I'd happily stay again.

Good choice if you have a car as 24 hour parking available just across the road. Breakfasts excellent.
