I arrived late after a delayed ferry crossing this is the only reason I stayed the night the room was awful. Maybe ok for a week on the beer for TT but certainly not for a business trip. The whole place needs refurbishment

Disgusting

we were well looked after by the manager, William. Very friendly, warm guy but there's no getting away from the fact that the hotel has seen better days. Tired decor is one thing but the rooms obviously never get a deep clean. Bathroom & linen were clean enough but the beds clearly never get moved. Breakfast was average. Rooms get a daily service & fresh towels. great location for douglas town centre

stayed at the Sugarland whilst viewing properties on IOM  , great location ,close to sea terminal , promenade and shops.great value for money ,you get what you pay for .clean and comfy room .decor a bit dated but this adds to the charm /character of the property 
clean bed with TV and shower ,all you need for stop over .I traveled over on ferry as foot passenger so hotel located near to sea terminal was crucial .The star of the Sugarland is the owner ,mr.wan ,i received an old fashion welcome ,nothing was too much a problem for Mr.Wan .I arrived on the early morning ferry and expected to wait until 13;00 to get into my room ,but , having business in Ramsey  ,i inquired whether   i could deposit my luggage with him to safeguard whilst in Ramsey ? Mr.wan checked and , as my room was vacant ,i was  able to get in early ,shower then change prior to heading off via the electric railway to Ramsey .A simple gesture made all the difference to my day ,Its not the smartest hotel I've stayed in but you would have to go a long way to get a better reception /welcome .I would definitely stay here again

Great location ,excellent value for money ,ideal for single traveller

Stayed here for the first time earlier this month to visit the MER 125th Anniversary events. Friendly staff, good breakfast, room clean and comfortable. As with earlier the hotel is somewhat dated and could do with smartening up a bit.

Handy location along Douglas Promenade

Nice hotel conveniently situated on the sea front near the town centre. Ok the place may be a little tired but it is clean and the bed we had was very comfortable. Lovely breakfast. Very friendly and helpful owner. Would definitely use again. 

Great value 

Once again the staff and owners at Sugarland hotel were extremely friendly and helpful.  Nothing is ever too much trouble.  Love this place x  The isle of man TT is their busiest time but everything is done with a smile on all their faces.  Glorious weather this year too which made our holiday even better.
