Not a bad looking place, welcoming host, he contacted me to make sure he'd be in when I arrived. But the rooms are dusty and dirty, everything needs a damn good clean. And at nearly £50 for a room & breakfast! I was very disappointed. Would not recommend sadly 

Needs a scrub

Had it not been very late would have checked out immediately.  Everything filthy.  Bathroom toilet filthy, threadbare towel which smelled disgusting.  Bedding cheap and nasty.  Dining room in morning looking out on weed infested garden.  Table and floor filthy.

Martin is lovely as always and I hate to write this review, but it must be said so things can get back to what they once were. My room was downstairs which I have had in the past. On first entering I was absolutely shocked on our unkept the room was and the decor needs overall  really bad. The room was so dirty full of dust that had been there for a while. I had to clean my toilet and sink and also the skirting board around my room it was filthy. My bed sheets had marks on them and needed ironing so bad looked like someone had slept in them before me. Maybe it was an over sight I don't know but I was truly shocked by the state of the room. It as put me off going there in the future.

Not what it used to be.

Martin was extremely friendly and welcoming , even when we arrived late at night due to heavy traffic he was by understanding and helpful via text. 
There is a fair amount of Parking at the front of the house however due to arriving late in the evening we had to bump up the Kurb outside.
Martin gave us a tour of the house and showed us our room, room was okay ample space, private bathroom, view of the garden , all necessary amenities, however it seemed to be lacking what I'd call a woman's touch. Needed dusting, towels were abit outdated, sheets had some marks on and room was in need of a Hoover. 
However I can't fault the decor downstairs in the hallway it is a lovely enter cue but consistency would be nice. 
In my opinion it is a little highly priced for the condition of the room but space wise is understandable as we paid £83 for the night for a room that slept 6 plus a dog.
As lovely as it is having the guest house as dog friendly, you definitely need to bring supplies water bowls bedding etc and it would be nice if there was a dog waste bin outside. Also access to the garden wasn't very clearly explained and was uncertain if taking the dog out for a toilet in the night was acceptable. 
Overall I'd stay again but the experience could have been improved with some changes.

Fair review

Very warm welcome from Martin and his wife. My room was very spacious and the parking is right in front of the house so nice and secure. Lots of eateries to choose from, all a very short walk away. Breakfast in the conservatory was great, cooked by Martin - fresh and plentiful. My dogs were welcome too which is very important to me, I don't stay anywhere where my dogs would have to sleep in the car. I would prefer not to be charged extra for them (it cost me another £15 for the night) but it was not a deal-breaker. Will definitely stay again and would recommend this place to anyone. Easy to find and lots of amenities close by. Many thanks again Martin!
