Our stay in Derby was marred when our car brokedown on Saturday morning. However, Christine, the Premier Inn manager on duty was hugely understanding and supportive as we made the necessary calls for recovery and hire car. She is a credit to Premier Inn!

Exceptional management understanding and support

Very basic, which is all you expect for the price, bed only a double bit cramped but pillows and mattress comfy.
Otherwise just a basic room which was clean and at the end of the day did the job for us over a weekend , was close to an Aldi supermarket and not that far from ma8n derby centre , so well ,located

Weekend at premier inn derby west

This has to be one of the best Premier Inns I’ve stayed in. All the reception and cleaning staff were friendly,helpful and welcoming but a special mention and extra thank you has to go to the lovely Claire who went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. I’ll be back!

Comfortable and clean

Stayed this weekend with the family, Darren and the staff at Premier Inn Derby West couldn't have been more helpful.

Very understanding, considerate and handled our requests immediately without fuss.

60th Bday party, staff were amazing

Last minute decision to stay out for a night, had a nice welcome at reception, the room was comfortable and clean. It was nice to find a little treat left for me in the room which was a nice touch and wasn't expected. Bed was comfy and a great sleep

Comfy nights stay

Me and my girlfriend were visiting Derby to attend my mates wedding. Arrived at the hotel early and we were able to check in at 11am for a small fee of £10. Hotel really close to Darley Abbey venue, decent nights sleep and breakfast. 

Value for money 

Well run hotel and good location. Has car parking and Beefeater restaurant on site. It has Aldi supermarket next door (useful for snacks etc). Opposite is Royal Derby Hospital which is useful if visiting someone. 

Good base for Derby and surrounds

We have stayed at this Premier Inn several times but it is looking very tired and is badly in need of redecoration and new furniture. The room we were given (101) was the worst room we have ever stayed in at any Premier Inn or anywhere else. There was no proper window, just a skylight and the room smelt musty. Due to the lack of space there was no sofa, as there is in most Premier Inn rooms, just a chair. We went straight back to Reception to see if we could move rooms but were told this was not possible. Staff were not at all helpful or interested. The room was also near the door to the stairs so noise of people coming and going. We definitely will not be returning and would not recommend this Premier Inn at all.

Musty box with a skylight!!

Shabby, tatty and in need of some serious attention.

Imagine Butlins, but Butlins of yesteryear. That’s the Premier Inn Derby West. Unloved, shabby and feeling forgotten. Staff ( well most of them ) just wonderful and trying their best. Friendly and polite. 

Premier inn-get your act together. Either do it up or let it go. It is not comparable to other Premier Inns and the carpets and curtains are poorly fitting and filthy. I also came back at 5pm and my room had not been cleaned, even though I asked at reception and left a ticket on the door to say so. Very disappointing.

Shabby and grim

Booked this Hotel with 5 colleagues.  Average weather day and as soon as i entered the Hallways it was stifling.   Got to my room to be greeted by a wall of heat.  Made sure the heater in the room was off (which it was)  Checked the thermostat and it was set at 32 degrees!!!!!!!.  Went to reception to be told there is no aircon and the rooms are set at that temperature and cannot be changed.  I then asked if i could change rooms and was told there were no others.  Lastly i asked for a fan but alas they didnt have any of those either.  So basically had 2 nights of no sleep (dropped off about 4am due to pure exhaustion).  Went for Dinner on our first night only to be told that there were 7 items not available on the menu.  All in all a terible experience.
