I wonder if this has changed hands.  Called by to organise for friends.  Asked about the  facilities and especially about the about the breakfast offer and apparently kippers aren't on the menu and fresh fruit isn't available at all.

New owners?

Firstly having read the reviews previously posted, Hobbsy1964 review reminds me not to trust all reviews you read!!! this B&B is someones home... if you want flexibility and handholding, book a Premier Inn! I found communication with the owners prior to my arrival to be professional, warm and corteous... I was landing after 7pm and the owners had planned to be out, therefore they left a key for me to let myself in!!! my room was lovely, bed really comfortable and linen was clean and crisp, there was a lock on the room and the shared facilities where beautiful.  Breakfast was amazing, with fresh fruit, which consisted of strawberrys, blackberries, figs and melon with yoghurt and should I have wished I could have had a full breakfast.  Nothing too much trouble and I would 100% recommend this hotel - the alternative for me was a souless Day's Inn... Staying at The Homestead felt like staying with Family and as a woman on her own travelling for work, I felt safe.... thank you so much Linda xxx

Felt like home...

Stayed in the purple room last night... really lovely single room and could not have asked for a better service from the owners... Went above and beyond! Not to mention the yummy breakfast in beautiful surroundings! 

Wonderful, charming B&B

I recently tried to reserve this B & B on another site and didn't realise there was a deposit to be paid. 
I was contacted by the owners and asked to make a deposit payment which I was unaware of. 
I had contact with the owner in respect of this and various other things that I was enquiring about as we are going to a wedding and wanted to know how far it was from the venue, but also about the booking in time, which is ridiculously 6pm and that is far too late. 
Anyway more or less from the beginning asking the owner for help and details she was very rude and obnoxious and especially referred to the fact that contacting her for 1 nights stay was a waste of her time. 
I understand that small businesses are stretched and need to ensure they make profit, but I don't think in this case that there was any need for the reaction and rudeness that I got.  I felt that the owner didn't want the business and that it was just too much trouble.

Obnoxious & Rude

Beautiful room in a lovely cottage in a quiet village. A very warm welcome and hosts accommodated us even though they were meant to be closed for the night, as we were stranded. Had a wonderful breakfast before we left, such a lot of lovely fresh produce.
