This was our sixth visit. We keep going back because the location is slap bang in the middle of the fringe venues - and yet in a quiet location. It would be easy to walk past the hotel and miss it. The signage is minimal (perhaps because the building is listed?). My first review was not favourable - the rooms were dark and the service in the restaurant was desperately slow. Over the years the chain has gradually moved on from the dark green and brown colour scheme - and increased the wattage in the lighting. We tried the restaurant again this year - a great improvement. The early evening offering is very Corbin & King (in terms of layout, content and pricing). It is based on a French Brasserie and suits the surroundings. We had the bargain "Formule" - three courses in 30 minutes. Just right for fitting into a busy Fringe day. Every year there are improvements. Next year please could you get rid of the tightly sprung cables on the hair dryers? It requires considerable force to hold the hair dryer in place for just a few minutes. If all I can find to grumble about is the lead on the hair dryer, things must be pretty good. Congratulations Mr Bel on such a well run establishment. Keep up the good work and see you next year.
