Just spent 4 fabulous days here with the family the location of the cabin was excellent. It was clean upon arrival and the hot tub was ready to step straight in which is just what we needed after 6 hours in the car with 3 kids and a dog. The site is clean and quiet in fact if I had to pick fault with anything I would probably say the bin store was full however I accept this is a remote location and we visited at peak time so I guess I would expect that. Everything else was first class and we will definitely be back again soon.

Perfection

Stated in Oneida log cabin, looks lovely there was 5 of us 4 adults and a child, we struggled with the fridge way to small no freeze and being some way from a decent shop your going to struggle, there’s a coffee machine which had left over coffee in it also there’s a ice maker machine which also was dirty 🤢 the shower is terrible (both) greasy plates n bowls… cobwebs everywhere, the area is outstanding beautiful peaceful, the accommodation needs some time and TLC on it and a bigger fridge freezer 

Peaceful, accommodation let down

Stayed at Kilchurn Cabin, had a much needed break and it was so relaxing. The cabin had everything and more. Really comfy beds and log fire. We even got to look at the stars from the hottub. Will definitely be back xxx

Fantastic views can’t wait to go back.

Well after a 15 mile trek up a single track road surface good we arrived at our cabin the osprey unpacked put shopping away the fridge/freezer was not cleaned properly had to clean fridge not good at all the freezer bit had some spillage on top shelf had to clean that one of the frying pans had burnt food on it so had to clean that the mezzanine bedroom was not cleaned the carpet was stained and cabinet where TV was was dusty the toilet and shower was not cleaned there was water marks on shower screen the hot tap in sink only dribbled out so it took an age to fill sink up the decking out side gate to hot tub was hanging of with screws hanging out so that was a no go area for the kids on the whole it was well disappointing after a 8 1/2 hour drive unfortunately I will never return 

The long and winding road

The location of the lodge is spectacular, right on the side of the loch with a secluded pebbled beach, where we spent a lot of time kayaking and fishing - Watching the sunrise with your morning coffee was just amazing! The village is a small hamlet but the cafe/shop serves great food/cakes/drinks and there’s a curry shack a few miles up the road, serving good takeaway curries. There’s a large green to play ball games, a great park and lots of rope swings scattered around the trees, which the boys loved! The family friendly walk to the nearby waterfall is lovely (Falls of Avich) and worthy of a visit. The lodge itself is small, compact but has everything you need. The hamper was a nice touch and the lodge was clean - the fridge and oven were immaculate. The wood burner was great and can heat the lodge very quickly, which is needed on those cooler days/nights. However, the outside of the lodge needs work…the exterior and decking is very tired, dirty and needs a good clear out underneath the veranda. We didn’t use the hot tub in the end but this was cleaned prior to our arrival and even though it looked a little green, we were reassured this was normal as highland water passes through peaty soils. If you’re looking for a ‘rustic escape’ then this is the place for you - to be close to nature, light fires, swing on rope swings and open water swim but if you’re looking luxury then not so much - you’re definitely paying for location, rather than a luxurious lodge with a hot tub.

Rustic getaway!

My wife and I stayed here at ‘Shuna Cabin’ for two nights and we had the most fantastic time. The cabin is incredible, it’s a great size for large families and it’s decor is very well done (especially the wall lights, Agnes we want some lol) 
The bedrooms are a nice size with comfy beds, the en-suite and family bathrooms are very nicely done with great showers. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking your own meals. The cabin has lovely views with a large private garden that has seating  you can enjoy the gentle trickle of the wee burn that runs by the garden. But the most wonderful thing was the large deck with plenty of room to eat outside, as well as use of the hot tub! And oh my the hot tub is EXCELLENT it was a dream being outside in January 2°C and in the tub at 40° it was superb!!! Agnes’s cabin is truly first class!! We would definitely go back.

A truly wonderful way to relax whatever the weather. You feel close to nature, wonderful.

The site used to be a forestry commission holiday park but since 2004  has been split up and sold on so there’s now about 50 different owners. There’s a mix of full time residents, 2nd homes and holiday lets. There’s also a charity run respite home. The place therefore operates like a village with some shared greens, but mostly private gardens. 
We’ve stayed in about 8 different cabins over the years, the experience has varied considerably so pick owner/cabin carefully depending what you’re looking for.

More a village than a holiday park

Stayed in Sloy cabin which was one of the best views over the loch. Nice to sit out on deck and listen to the stream babbling down into the loch beside the cabin. Hot tub was great although wood fired does take a while to heat up. Nice places to explore in area and further.

If you're after 5 star accomadation that's "Four in a bed" clean and mini beast free stop now as this place ain't for you.

If you're after a quirky place to stay in the trees that's surrounded by nature carry on as this place has it all. 

We had the pleasure of "The Bubble" for 4 nights recently. It's one of a number of privately owned lodges that are on the side of Loch Awe.

Whoever came up with the name "The bubble" sure hit the nail on the head.

What an oasis.

The owner Nicky has "presented" a home from home that is spot-on.

A well deserved 5 stars.
