Stayed here (and in the upstairs Theatre House Apartment directly opposite) this week with a large group of friends. The accommodation was perfect for our needs, and while the decor and equipment was perhaps a bit tired in places, it really was very warm and comfortable. No problems sleeping, or with fridges or boilers. We had gorgeous weather too!  When we needed a few more parking permits, a quick email to the manager was all that was required to have a fresh set waiting for us that afternoon. We would definitely use these properties again.

Great accommodation for the price!

Unfortunately there were a number of reasons why we were very disappointed especially given the previously positive reviews onTrip advisor. Firstly the shower in the bathroom beside our room was out of action so we had to use the bathroom beside the rooms upstairs, not ideal at all. Then when we arrived at 2pm the place hadn't been cleaned, so when the cleaners turned up at 2.45 and were there till 5.30, whilst they did an excellent job and were very nice it was not very relaxing having the Hoover going at 5pm on Sunday when we had planned to have a nap before going out for dinner.  The worst part was that in our room there was a cabinet with a boiler in it and it was extremely noisy, coming on and off during the night, waking us up and really disturbing our sleep. We pointed it out to the cleaners that afternoon as we noticed it on arrival and they said it was going to be fixed but it could not be turned off. The details said there was a welcome pack comprising milk and biscuits, we were not bothered about the biscuits but it would have been nice to have the milk. Also the communal areas had no bulb in the main light in the TV room, which the cleaner installed for us when we pointed it out. Generally the interior is a bit tired the carpets in the hall and stairs are dirty and the place in need of a lick of paint.  What a shame as the location is good and it has potential.

Very disappointing

Stopped off here for a night before the IOW Festival in 2013 (so date not quite right in review sorry) and it was perfect for what we needed.
The bedroom was on the first floor and was clean and tidy with enough space for what we wanted.
Shared Bathrooms were fine, even with the place being full there was plenty of water and no queuing for use.
The Kitchen had everything required and allowed us to store our food ready for the festival so we didn't have to join the crowds the following day.
Had a quick look in the TV lounge but as we were only stopping off for one night to sleep did not use it.
Wifi access was a nice bonus.
Parking is not great in the area, we unloaded and then drove a few minutes away and found some free parking for the night.
All in all perfect for what we wanted, would possibly be good for a whole family/friends book out as it was close to the coast and also the town.

Stop of before IOW Festival

We booked on the strength of an online blog (obviously placed by the owner as it had a direct link to be able to book through the blog page plus the owner's telephone number). During the photo gallery, pictures of both the hotel opposite this accommodation and also a swimming pool are clearly shown.

The text also refers to "Optional £8 Breakfast served in boutique hotel opposite".

My husband and I stayed in this accommodation the week before last.  There was no swimming pool, despite being shown in their pictures on the above website.  Also, the hotel shown in their picture on the above website knew NOTHING about any connection with the self-catering accommodation opposite where we stayed (and whose website they are shown on).  

In addition, the advertised fridge was broken.  I reported this by phone straight away when we arrived on Tuesday 15 July to the proprietor, who said a new fridge was being delivered that day at 4pm. I also explained to her that we had just bought a large amount of perishable food, on the strength of having use of a working fridge. That evening we returned, to be told that what looked like the old fridge, was actually an identical new one, and just that it only appeared not to be working as it hadn't cooled down yet.  Two days later the "new" fridge still had not cooled down and, on inspection, it was obvious that this was still the old fridge as it had the same marks and slight scratches on it.  Needless to say, all of our food was ruined and we had to throw it away.

Also NO free visitor parking permits seemed to exist (despite also being mentioned in the blog).

Oh yes, and lastly there was no TV in the room, as also advertised on the above website.  Not that we are TV-watchers anyway, but again this was a total misrepresentation. 

The most important points are that we booked on the understanding that the swimming pool on the website existed, that there was actually a connection with the hotel opposite and that there was a working fridge. However, as mentioned, there were none of these.

We would definitely not return.

VERY disappointed!

We stayed for one night during a road trip. Great communication from the owner. We booked a triple room but since another room was vacant the owner kindly let us use it free of charge. Great location within walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Only slight drawback is if you need parking, the owner kindly provides parking permits but whether you get a space near the cottage is down to luck. We ended up finding a parking spot about 5 mins walk away.
