Excellent hotel with 24/7 reception. Secure room and corridors. Tea and coffee facilities in room. Comfy be. Temp controlled rooms. Quiet.

First visit

We visited here on the 2nd April 2024 and stayed on the second floor. However on arrival my husband noticed the huge gym attached to the hotel. We arrived slightly late and needed our 2 year old to get to sleep, however the banging started once we were all settled in bed. 9.15pm we are still trying to get our children to sleep with the room banging and juddering from the gym next door (I have no idea what they were doing!)  We rang down to reception to find the gym only shuts at 10pm. The noise then restarted at 6.39 the next morning! This is on a family quiet floor! I have rung customer relations but been refused a refund, due to the fact the noise is classed as ‘external’. The hotel are aware of the gym noise and this needs to be rectified or family’s notified of the noise levels upon arrival. Really disappointed!

The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean and had a nice atmosphere.  The room was quiet, and the bed was comfortable too. The breakfast was delicious as well. Everything went perfectly well with our stay, thank you.

Another lovely stay at the Coventry Belgrade Plaza Premier Inn

Went to visit the sights around Coventry which were great if you are into history, the city itself is cr***p..... This hotel is bang on the city centre and that's just the only good thing about it, no parking, staff looked like they could not be bothered to be there, the room itself was not very clean, there were small hairs on the bed, scuff marks on the walls and some sort of black fluf in the bathtub, which I refused to use btw.... The carpets all over the place could do with replacing and the bedside table was dirty with some sticky stuff on it..... I paid £68 for just the one night and I consider it a waste of money

Let down

Room, especially bathroom was looking a bit tired but everywhere in room was spotlessly clean . Jack at reception is sweetest person with biggest sweet tooth 😉😂,couldn't be any more helpful/attentive as was Anna  who we met on arrival , nice, friendly people. All of the staff are a credit to hotel but we interacted mostly with Jack and Anna which was a pleasure ..thank you for a lovely stay

Hotel was chosen for the location in Coventry which was perfect. Used a car park on Bishop Street and an app for parking. Staff were lovely. 
The downside was the Wi-Fi. Paid for the ultimate as I needed to do some work during the day, but even my iPad couldn’t maintain a connection. At one point flashing connected, not connected every second.  Emailed the support but not had a reply a week later.

A tale of two halves

If you have a chance to stay eleswhere in Coventry....do
Both lifts were out of order. The enclosed staircase to the rooms was stifflingly hot. Especially when you have to climb 6 flights of stairs. The staff were left in the morning to transport all of the laundry up the stairs - I really felt for them. Premier Inn knew of the lifts being out of service before my arrival and check in. NO correspondance was received about their inability to provide an expected service. 
I wouldn't stay there again if you paid me.

NEVER again

Stayed for 4 days at Premier Inn. Easy check in since we pre booked and paid in advance. Comfortable bed. Excellent location.  Good option for breakfast in nearby restaurants. 
Need to park car at nearby parking complex. 
Better cleaning expected. View from room on a vacant unkempt area.

Pros and cons

My partner and I have stayed in several premier inns and have always been happy with the quality until we booked into this one.  It smelt really strongly of cleaning fluid in the corridors and bedrooms.  The bedrooms and bathrooms were dirty, as was the corridors and  restaurant.  There were only two staff members on to run the reception and restaurant which was a disaster!  We were very conscious of touching anything in this hotel as it was so bad and decided that we really didn't want to risk eating here so made the decision to leave and not stay in the hotel at all.  We did complain and got a full refund but was under the impression that we weren't the only guests who had complained about the same things.
