We were staying at Northlodge just a few minutes drive from The Colintraive, so technically it was our local. We felt lucky to have found it. Dog friendly in the bar where we ate, but also a restaurant that didn’t allow dogs, good balance. We enjoyed two lunch time visits and an evening meal visit. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. There were a few local people in each time and the friendly chat added to the atmosphere of the place. It is situated in a lovely area next to a loch overlooking Bute and the ferry crossing. We had a small mix up with our bill but it was quickly and efficiently managed. The owner is friendly with an approachable manner. I would highly recommend.
