Very nice and clean room with attached bath in reasonable price. Our 4 day trip is finished after this and trust me this is the best hotel we stayed in.The owner was very nice and cane early in the morning to make breakfast and it was nice too.Overall I recommend to stay here and whenever i’m in the area I will definitely booked it again.

Stayed here on first day of  Wainright Coast to Coast walk. Good room and restaurant. Ate local lamb.

Quiet hotel room , clean an well presented. Adequate parking. Large comfortable bed with all amenities. Spacious bathroom, clean , great views from bedroom and drive or walk. Excellent breakfast with fresh ingredients. Attentive staff who went above for any concern and was knowlegeable about the local area.

When we arrived, the venue was still hosting a noisy christening, but we were assured it wouldnt be loud all evening,  so we chilled in our nicely decorated and comfortable room.  Once the party had departed, we had an enormous tasty meal with excellent service.  Breakfast, again, was very generous.   Lovely stay thanks.

Amazing cancellation flexibility, good bed, powerful shower, decent food, lovely breakfast.Could be a boutique hotel if they paid a bit more attention to the details (broken light bulbs, shower plug blocked, unfinished DIY in the bathroom, random nails sticking out of the wall, old oil/grease smells from the kitchen extractor fan, sucked into the bathroom) - someone had bothered to go around switching off every electric socket in the room - but not attended to the small details that someone staying there is interested in?

Lovely stay

Stayed at this hotel for the second night of our coast to coast walk.  Had large room overlooking the road and the fells in the distance.  The room was comfy and clean with everything you needed.  We ate in the restaurant that night and the service was good.  We were all very pleased with our food.  Two of us had the Parkside lamb which was great.  The same chef was there again, early next morning to prepare our breakfast which was excellent.

Very enjoyable visit.

The rooms were nice clean,bathrooms were clean .But they didnt have shampoo only a shower gel which was  a bit odd.the staff service could be better.the staff are nice and friendly but  they could me more attentive towards their work.Breakfast was not good by any means the mushrroms were blunt,and even the sausages werent perfectly cooked that needs to improve for the price.But all in all very good place .great price cause the rooms are very nice.And will definitely  reccomend to another.Hope they will improve their breakfast meal.If that should be done Fabulous place for anyone including families.

We booked a stop over here whilst we had plans for walks around Ennerdale and Loweswater lakes. 
We had to park on the main road as the small carpark was full but it's a wide road and the parking is within a large layby area so really not an issue.  Easy check in at a dedicated desk, nice room with stunning views and pleasant atmosphere. Our room did face the road and whilst there was some occasional traffic noise early morning it didn't bother us. 
We had a lovely evening meal here, excellent food and massive portions. The breakfast ordering system worked a treat too, you submit the night before and select just the items you want. It was all perfectly cooked by a really friendly chef who also does the front of house greeting at breakfast. He genuinely seemed interested in engaging with you which was a pleasant change compared to some of the bigger hotels we've stayed at recently. 
The jewels in the crown at this hotel really are the staff, they all seem to have multiple roles but they honestly cannot do enough for you. They're all an absolute credit to the hotel and should be incredibly proud of the work they do there. Thanks for a lovely stay, would highly recommend. 


Hidden gem with excellent staff

We stayed 2 nights here as part of a walking holiday.
The best thing this hotel is the staff. They are all so welcoming and can not do enough for you.
The rooms are spacious and spotless.
We also chose to eat there both nights as the food was home cooked and tasty.
There was traffic noise in the rooms we had, but as we had done 2 full days solid walking in the area, we all slept like logs.
Can recommend as a good value break.

Friendly staff , clean rooms and great food

I stayed here for an overnight stay as I was working nearby and had to be on site for 7am . As I would miss breakfast, I was very kindly offered a packed up version which was waiting for me downstairs at 6.30am ! This type of excellent treatment of a guest means more to me than anything - I can’t express how grateful I was . As stated in another review the road is a bit noisy but I always carry ear plugs . The room was very comfy and practical with kettle , and a good shower and everything was really clean . I can’t really say much more as I was only there for 9 hours but was treated so well .

Short overnight stay for business

My husband & I have visited the hotel a few times this week & have found their customer service excellent each time. We have made enquiries to eat or have just a cuppa. We have now met Kirsty, Dan & Ben so far. All have been very helpful. The food whether lunch or dinner has been excellent. I had been worried about battered fish but Kirsty checked with the chef & he was happy to not batter at all & grill. It was a lovely meal. Can't rate Parkside highly enough. The staff & meals are a credit to Management. Thank You!
