Lovely well equipped cottage in a quiet hamlet.  Beautiful countryside around it, great for walking and loads to do for all ages and interests.  Helen and Allen both a fount of knowledge for things to do!

A wonderful cottage, down a quiet lane, tucked away in a peaceful hamlet of maybe 10 houses. Just a short walk to friendly ponies and beautiful views across the valley. The cottage has all the comforts of home, clean, tidy, warm and really comfortable beds and sofas! There are toys, books and games - and wifi/netflix and prime (perfect for all the family!). 
The bath is huge and the shower is really powerful - much needed after exploring all the waterfalls, caves and beaches! The cottage is in the ideal position for so many different activities - you could spend a month there and still have things to do. Pontadawe is a short drive away and has everything - pubs, sports, takeaways and restaurants. This is a real gem! The communication with Helen the host was awesome from the minute we confirmed booking. We will definitely be revisiting with more of the family next time - and for longer - can’t wait!

We loved staying in this lovely home with our two young children. The house had everything we needed and a really good outdoor space which we used a lot. The local area has so much to offer and Helen gave us some great recommendations. We really enjoyed relaxing in this home after a day of exploring. Helen is a great host and made us feel very welcome.

We've just returned home from such a lovely weekend at Tan Yr Eglwys. Helen was the perfect host and greeted us with the warmest welcome.
The cottage itself was very well presented, with everything you could possibly need whilst staying away from home. The woodburner was a great addition to the cottage and kept us warm all weekend. 
The area was lovely a peaceful with beautiful views and only a short drive to the local town, Pontardawe. 
We would all love to return here again for a nice weekend retreat to the countryside. 


Excellent holiday cottage, very spacious, wood burning stove, mini pool table and even a piano - time at home was as much fun as going out walking. Host was always on hand nearby if anything needed. Lovely and quiet area, perfect for a walking holiday.

The first thing we noticed about this cottage was the lovely warm welcome from Helen, the owner. Meanwhile the kids dashed in and ran around before reappearing and declaring the place 'awesome'!

We had a really nice, relaxing stay here. We had everything we needed and it was very comfortable. One morning we went up to the owner's place and the kids helped Helen to feed the chickens.  Helen is also full of ideas and suggestions for things to do while you're in Wales.

You've got the beautiful countryside of the Brecon Beacons to the north, and the gorgeous beaches of the Gower Peninsula to the south, plus Swansea is very close if you need to pop in to the city.

The cottage is in a tiny village where you can feel like you've got away from it all, but in fact there is a small town with shops and takeaways just a few minutes away.

Overall, a truly lovely place to stay!

What a beautiful cottage! Perfect for our little family. Everything was provided for our 10 month old. 
The cottage was spotlessly clean and so cosy and welcoming. The welcome cake and milk was gratefully received after a long journey. Helen was a fabulous host and we will be back again! Perfect x

We had a great week's stay in this charming cottage with our family. Helen is an amazing host that provided us with lots of information about activities in the local area and I must admit 6 days were not enough to do/see it all. She has also shown us around her small farm with chickens (children enjoyed picking the eggs and eating them later 😉) and also to spend some time with the ponies. The cottage is very comfortable and equipped with everything you would need for your stay. We also enjoyed BBQ in the terrace with beautiful views over the surrounding fields and hills. We definitely recommend this place and are planning to come back one day in the future.

A beautiful cosy cottage in a lovely quiet location, The cottage had all the facilities you need and the bed was very comfortable. Log fire as lovely and cosy on the cold nights. Helen the host was excellent in communication before and during our stay.
we stayed only a couple of days as we had booked a Beacons Trike Tour to the Penderyn Whisky Distillery and Brecon Beacons area. We would highly recommend a stay at this beautiful cosy cottage, and we hope to return for a longer stay in the future after COVID 19 restriction ease to explore more of this stunning area.

Just spent a lovely week in the larger cottage. Spacious and homely and everything we needed. Walk literally right on the doorstep with horses,pigs and llamas on route. Helen was so helpful offering advice on local attractions etc. Our 3 year old grandchild already wants to go back!

Ideally located property with everything you need to make it a relaxing stay (plus more). Rooms are clean and spacious, and every effort has been made to make them stylish and practical. Set in a peaceful location that is not a huge distance from the beautiful Gower Peninsular nor the Brecon Beacons. Ideal for family or group stays.

Anniversary stay

We had such a lovely time staying in this cottage with our two young children! The cottage is really nicely decorated, and packed full of everything you could need, in terms of kitchen utensils, children's gear (including a bed guard and stair gate), and loads of toys for the kids to enjoy! 
It is in such a lovely spot too, quiet and picturesque. A great footpath starts from the garden itself, and there is a wonderful cycle track nearby. So many lovely spots are in easy driving distance too. I'd really recommend this place!

Roomy and yet cosy cottage, in gorgeous surroundings

Our trip in December was the second time we've stayed here, it's like being at home and Helen had decorated the house for Christmas, so it was especially lovely & cosy! The location is super convenient for everything we need, from day to day living to touristy stuff, and we like the fact we have plenty of choice of bedrooms, lots of space. Check-in and check-out are easily arranged, nothing is too much trouble for Helen. We are always made to feel extremely welcome, and have already booked for our next visit.

The holiday home you've always wanted!

My fiancée, her brother, and I spent a couple of days in this beautifully located Welsh cottage, which was wonderfully decorated for Christmas, too. We stayed to visit my family in a neighbouring village for the holidays, and found this place to be magical.

The cottage was quiet, quaint, comfortable and cute. The furniture was comfortable and fitted well in the traditional cottage style. I’m afraid we didn’t make use of the log burner in the amazing fireplace - but I’m sure it would add to the cosy atmosphere that the cottage brings (the boiler heater worked fine)!

Despite its location in the tiny village of Cilybebyll and the surrounding countryside, it is also very accessible to connecting villages and towns, such as Pontardawe and Neath, and about 20-30 minutes from Swansea to the south and the Brecon Beacons National Park to the north.

It’s peaceful and quiet, and the local people are friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. So don’t worry if you aren’t familiar with what is going on or unsure about what to do - there is also a collection of brochures, leaflets and information about all sorts of events and attractions in the area, as well as local restaurants, pubs, etc.

Helen & Allen were so accommodating and helpful, making us feel very welcome. They talked us through how things worked, where things were, left us milk in the fridge for our teas and coffees (and there were mince pies!), and were always on hand for anything - and would go out of their way to help guests, too. (A note for young families: they have also provided bath toys and a step for small children to reach over the sink!)

We thoroughly recommend anyone to spend time in this cottage and experience the rural Welsh countryside and all that South Wales has to offer, and we say thank you (or “diolch yn fawr”!) to Helen and Allen and their family for being wonderful and lovely hosts to us!
