The property was in character with the area and is in itself a fine building. Interesting inside with its multi-levels. Staff and service was excellent - all very helpful and attentive. Lucky with the weather sitting outside looking across the square was really great and our party of 10 had a very relaxed and interesting stay.

We had a great stay on Sunday Afternoon and evening at Duchess of Cornwall.We were a group of 8 Service was fabulous Food was good quality Pub grub.Room was spacious and clean.A great place to stay.

One night business. Excellent for parking. Room very very well done, very comfortable. Breakfast and food options very good. The whole area felt safe. Would definitely book again.

Great, well decorated rooms with a decent size TV, comfortable bed and powerful shower. I had a double aspect room with lovely views along the streets. Evening food was fairly basic, but reasonably priced and good quality, as was breakfast. The multi level dining area/bar is really well presented with a large central staircase and outside seating is also good. Overall a very good stay.

We had a lovely stay here and would return again. Staff were friendly, polite and attentive. There was a good selection for breakfast and all the meals we had during our stay was excellent. Our room was great, with a nice cosy theme. The bed was too firm for me and my partner, though that is down to personal preference and no fault of the hotel. The hotel is in a quiet location in lovely surroundings with plenty to do in the surrounding areas. Highly recommend staying here if you want to explore Dorset.

Stayed here a few times now. Always friendly, welcoming.  Rooms clean, good shower. Food excellent. Would recommend Duchess of Cornwall Inn.

On arrival we were advised that Unfortunately the hot water system had failed with this  information it was our decision to stay. The hotel management and staff could not have been more helpful. The weather played a major factor in our terminating our stay a day early Again the management were very understanding we will return as everyone has left a memorable impression.

A hotel we look forward to revisiting

We have stayed at The Duchess of Cornwall on numerous occasions to meet close friends and always enjoyed our stays. Unfortunately, on this visit the heating in our original room was not working. However, the staff were excellent and changed us to another room, assisting us to move our belongings. They were excellent!

Fabulous stay. The room was airy and clean, with lots of little extras to make us feel special. The bed was a super king size and very comfortable with the added bonus of a teddy waiting for us.The staff were super friendly and we had a free drink upon arrival in the bar.We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and both were excellent as was the service.Check out was simple with no hidden surprises.

It’s very nice, if you can find it. On Sunday there are no buses into Poundbury so you have to walk through the development. There’s minimal signage and few people around to get directions. The B&B itself is quite nice and my room,#8, was quiet with a view for miles over the countryside. Ideal location to catch the local bus to Lyme Regis.

Very nice and good pub.

Rooms are lovely but attention to detail is lacking. Creaky bed, dirty shower head, water from shower leaks onto floor. A non slip mat in the shower/bath is necessary for those guests who are a bit unsteady underfoot.
Breakfast was tasty but having to get starters upstairs then take it downstairs to eat with the dog was a bit of a juggling act.
Toilets could be more accessible, lots of up & downstairs to get to the ladies & gents.
Good food, great atmosphere & friendly staff.

A good experience

Having stayed here I am reluctant to be so effusive about how great it is because it will become too popular, which would make it not so easy to return. The room was fantastic and the bed was the most comfortable super king I have ever slept in. The room looked Victorian but had all the mod cons like a simple low level light when you went into the bathroom in the night. USB ports in the plugs. Everything you would want in a 5 star hotel was thought of here. Coffee and tea facilities  were top notch and I even loved the old school door key. The staff were lovely and Mariana who served our breakfast was brilliant with great customer service skills. Our included breakfast  was served in a gorgeous high ceiling dining room and the choice for breakfast was extensive and well cooked. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend staying here and exploring Poundbury and Dorchester. We will be back soon.

A wonderful hotel and pub, I would highly recommend staying here as the rooms are fantastic.

Easy free parking in the front of the hotel with a simple  and friendly check in were the indicators this was going to be great.

Dinner booked - room sensational with the small touches and a lift to make life easy.

The staff were engaging and the food and drink just right at the bar. Pasta dishes - Papperdelle Ragu and Pumpkin Ravioli were all that was needed with some nice bar drinks.

The breakfast the next morning - full continental - had some of the best pastries you could imagine.

Staff are lovely and location is tops .

Be sure to book here it is well with it.
