We are here with family and can’t fault the hotel. Iv used the spa this morning and had treatments with Liz. She is so lovely, puts you at ease and is very good at what she does. She explained what all the products were and the benefits. I left there feeling totally relaxed and will definitely ask for her when we return. Very happy.

Great 3 day relaxing break

This was our first visit to a Warner's Leisure hotel and my wife and I were very pleased we went. The location was perfect for our four day stay, Our room was comfortable, the food was excellent and the gardens were lovely.
The over-riding feature of our stay, however, was the friendliness of ALL the staff!  everyone we came into contact with was kind, helpful and efficient. Our waiter in the dining room, Corey, was outstanding.
We will definitely be visiting other Warner Hotels in the future.

First visit.....will not be the last!

The food was excellent so much choice and no limit to how much you can eat.
The entertainment was fantastic. All three night we stayed we were treated to amazing acts.
The room was excellent, comfy bed.
Cricket St Thomas is a fascinating place and the manor house (used for To the Manor Born)  is there to visit.
We enjoy walking so the grounds were well walked by us. They also have rifle shooting and archery which we love. You need to book these in advance though to ensure you get a place.
Do I have a niggle, yes it would be lovely to be able to order for lunch in the bar or cafe a simple white bread sandwich, not ciabattia or other 'foreign' bread. 
Would I go again to Cricket St Thomas, definitely YES.

3 days not out.

Had a brilliant time at cricket st Thomas for my husbands 70th. We stayed in The Rose room in cricket house which felt very spectacular. This was our 5th stay over 25 years and it gets better every time we love it. Food was always hot and tasty and our waitress Gina lovely and very helpful. We did lots of quizzes and walks round the beautiful grounds enjoyed the swimming pool was nice and warm but in need of a little tlc. We had afternoon tea on hubbys birthday which was lovely. Enjoyed all entertainment but found it too loud which seemed to be a general concern. Will be back sometime in the future. Thank you to all staff.

Lovely birthday treat at Cricket st thomas

Booked into Warner Cricket St Thomas on 12/04/2024.
Prior to making the booking I was informed all services were close. As a disabled person this was what was required. Well from my room to reception about 400+ mtrs to the restaurant about 250+ mtrs. This is beyond my range. I spoke with the duty manager Sat 12/04/2024 at 9.30am and was informed that if we checked out there was a 24 hour refund, which would be confirmed by e-mail. No e-mail and the refund has not been recorded. If this is the way this company handles things I must say I am not impressed. It would seem that legal action is my next move,

Not as purported

Expected  a little luxury  though not bad wasn't good  room was very dusty in places ...mirrors light fitting many cobwebs  had a patio room were LOTS of fag ends on patio no milk at all for drinks food was average buffet  style much of it was dry where it had been sat under hot light to long and we were first sitting cold offering was gd staff lovely 

Slightly dissapointed

From the publicity pictures, one might think that a stay at Warners Cricket St Thomas would be a historic and heritage experience. Actually most of the 239 bedrooms are off long corridors a long way from the main hotel, accessible by covered walkways. The historic house itself has 14 bedrooms with some beautiful public rooms - but you have to make a special trip to see them.
The hotel grounds are extensive, very attractive and well maintained and there is a beautiful parish church which is well worth a visit.
The staff are very helpful and pleasant, without exception and Reception very efficient. 
The swimming pool and spa is also very good. 
My (signature) room was very clean and comfortable with a fridge. No bathrobes though. 
Dining room is in sittings and largely a self service buffet. The variety of dishes was good with salads and ethnic dishes available as well as a carvery.
I sampled one session of entertainment which was professional but rather Benny Hill.
The area around Chard and Crewkerne is beautiful with two National Trust properties worth a visit.
Overall, I found the size of the hotel detrimental but generally the package was value for money


Bit of a bed factory in beautiful grounds

Did not meet our expectations at all. Started with a room they allocated us. We had paid extra for signature room and what we initially got was tatty, old and dirty. The furniture was old in a bad way, tatty, Faux leather head board was peeling, window's had mould around them and didn't shut properly, mugs and spoons were dirty, sugar on tray and tea stain on shelf. I complained and looked at three rooms before finding an exceptable one. One of the newer rooms had a big area of mould on the voile curtain. 
We were supposed to have fluffy robes, but they were not in room, I did mention it and they gave us them on our 3rd day.
Food was ok, but they didn't cater for gluten free diet. I waited so long for a piece of gluten free toast, I had finished my entire breakfast before it arrived. Had asked for a gluten free sausage, but that never arrived. 
We had a late seating for dinner, not through choice, but by the time we got in, there were dregs left and my husband couldn't get the desserts of choice as they had run out. 
We paid extra for VIP experience, which was a waste of money, we were sat in a good position, but crammed in so tighty, we were touching arms with the persons next to us. The first and third rows seemed ok, they had space, but in the middle row, it was not good.
Definitely an older persons hotel, majority over 70, many in their 80's, however, be careful what room you have, as the walled garden  room are a very long walk to reception and restaurant.

Warner need to spend serious money on the maintence of this property, the windows and doors are peeling paint everywhere, paint peeling on walls and ceiling in swimming pool area. 


Our first warner experience and probably our last. First impressions are so important and they failed with us.

I managed to get away just for a weekend!. I must also admit that I don't go for the entertainment. That said the feedback from my fellow guests regarding the shows  is only ever positive. 

My Warner pleasure comes from the reliable standard of food and the service provided by the supportive and friendly staff. 

Particular shoutouts to; Michelle, Victorria, Suzi(M), Tom who's off to Plymouth to study Marine engineering, Eliot (R), Stephen, Laura, Ryan and Louise. I must not forget Lily P, Greta, Christiano, Tina, last but definitely not least Zuzia and Abby. These people applied their skills above and beyond to make my stay most agreeable leaving me free to wander and take the odd photograph in and around the area.  See below.

Another Warners Win (Cricket St Thomas) !!!!

My wife and I found the geography of the hotel a bit bewildering at first. It took us about 20 minutes to find our room! Our room was completely ok, very clean, and reasonably spacious, with good supplies of tea and coffee. Once we had learned our way around we warmed to the place, but were never completely confident when in the lifts that we would end up on the floor we wanted to get to. The entertainment was good fun. The staff were all hard working and cheerful. The organisation of meals worked really well, with a choice of buffet or a la carte. Alas, the food quality was variable (my kippers at breakfast were completely tasteless), and the coffee was poor quality, but was drinkable after the addition of a sachet of instant coffee from our room. Surprisingly, the high spot of our visit for us was a tour of the gardens and grounds led by Dawn, the head groundslady(?) who was very interesting and informative. We enjoyed our weekend, and would definitely go again.
